Did GameSpot just forget about this title or something? Easily the best sports game in a long while in my eyes. It's not really getting the unanimous love that I feel it should (it's at about 86% at GR/MC) but I really think it should get a 9.0 here.

Even though it's the best version of soccer/football you can buy for any platform right now it's still under the radar and a surprise to many.

I'm sure they'll get to it eventually.

It's amazing.

The ability to control your entire team on offense and defense really makes you finally feel fully in control.

The only negative I can find is that the defense isn't as strong as the offense. That means that you can have some uneven play until you fully learn the controls and compensate for it.

I'm not a fan of the actual sport but I do enjoy the game versions and this is the best soccer/football game I've ever played.

Cheers buddy,... I'm a huge footy fan,.. and I deeply want a game where you have full control over the team at any one time,.. this sounds fantastic!!!

I will buy this tomorrow after work,... can't wait now!!!!:D

Glad to hear it.

For a first effort the Wii version being the best out of the bunch was a big surprise.

I'm sure next year's effort will equal out the defense and make the graphics pop a bit more.

I'm thinking 7.5 or 8.0 because GS gave the 360/PS3 a 7.0 and 6.0, well IGN gave all 3 version a 8.6.

GS honstly need to sort themselves out. Rather than reviewing crap games, they should be reviewing pro evo already.

Sometimes Gamespot just does not review games....Don't know why. I went to buy a new DDR for my Wii or 360 and wanted to compare the scores. Well Gamespot reviewed the Wii DDR but not the 360's DDR. I ended up getting the 360's because of the songs but it would have still been nice if they would have reviewed it.

Well who honestly thought PES was going to be the best one?

There wasn't much hype around the game

I mean first of all it's not like the sport is that popular in America so there goes one chunk of a region that doesn't have it on their charts. Then it's on the Wii and people normally praise sports on the two other consoles.

Got it other day and love it. Don't think it'll get a great score here since it is a US site and football/soccer isn't as prominent here.

I honestly don't know what to think about it. I went through the tutorial, played a few real games and even went on-line with it. For as much control as you have, you also dont have as much control as you want. It all feels kind of "passive" like you are directing the movements but not really in direct control. The tackling for example, you just point and click at the offense player with the ball, and your defence players automatically make a attempt to get the ball back, you have no control over this at all. It is fun, but it is strange.

"It has all the intricacies of the existing versions, but within a user interface that couldn't be implemented on any other format than the Wii. PES 2008 for Wii isn't just a good football game, it is an ambitious one – and the team's efforts have paid off enormously. It will make fans of any football game rethink the way they play: no longer is just one player controlled, the user orchestrates the entire team. PES is a game that encourages competition, and you only have to watch two mates play to see how it brings the best and worst out of people. The Wii version offers the best online experience to date. Online play is the logical next step to extend the competitive nature of the game and will be vital in the progression of the series." - PES European team leader Jon Murphy

I would say yes since it's a totally different version than the versions on the ps3 and 360. In other words, the ps3 and 360 versions got a 6.0 and 7.0 respectively, so if the wii version gets a 9.0 then it's practically exclusive.

You have to time it right.

The more you play Champions Road the more practices open up and you'll learn all the moves . Like either I missed it or just forgot when they told me but a flick of the nunchuck does a power shot but if you flick the Wiimote the player does a lob shot (which if you have someone that loves to make their goalie attack is the best way to get it past them.)

I hope the game manages to achieve a minimum of 20 reviews to be counted on GameRankings. It currently has 6. So far it appears to be the best version yet has the least reviews.

I find it odd, though, that the PS2 and PSP version are rated more highly than the 360 and PS3 version. The latter two really musn't be that good.

From the interview it sounds like they spent so much time getting the Wii one right they did not spend all the time they should have on the 360 and PS3. It was shipped without being has complete has rest of the systems.

I really dont get it.

Other versions of PES 2008 got way underrate score where Wii's one got a high one.

Its that because of the wii-mote? Isnt AS THEY SAY ALL THE TIME ( GS editors) one of the same without adding anything new, except that its playable with wii-mote or what?

Whatever the reason , where i dont really care , i own PRo evo 2008 and i wouldnt think to buy it again on other console because it plays a little better...
