Oh snap! This looks legit. If so, what do you think, SW? I think it looks cool.

Unless this thing is really really cheap (like 100 bucks. It's a screen, controller, wireless and a really low power CPU) it's a silly idea. They will need it almost in impulse buy territory. There are already similar devices that have fallen flat.
If they don't support it already, they would have been better off just adding streaming to the playstation app for Mobile/tablets and released a clip for the PS5 controller or something.

There is no way this will be $100 lol. The ps5 controller itself is $70.
It's games aren't very good "on the go" on titles.
They need gameplay.
it’s not meant to be an on the go device. It’s a streaming device.
This is got to be one of the stupidest portable gimmicks ever made. So im gonna pay $500 for a console, then $300 for a Streaming Tablet with a controller with horrible battery life, have to upgrade my internet to the expensive $100 a month internet all so i can plug this gimmick into an outlet on my couch to play next to my $2000 dollar 4K OLED tv.

No it probably wont be 100 bucks. I can see sony thinking "250 minimum". They will certainly want it above the dual sense edge in terms of price. That will just make it DOA imho anyway. It's just a streaming device. A phone or tablet with a controller bolted on could do the same thing.
100 bucks is the most i would pay for it though if i was a Ps5 owner.
A shame. I would liked to have seen them do something more ambitious. A proper successor to the Vita or the Xperia Play maybe.

I’m hoping $200. Because yea, above that, and it’s no longer an impulse buy.
I am more interested in seeing who is the first shill to buy it 😂
Weird that you care about what people spend their money on 😎
That said, you can't blame them for giving it a go.
So they get f*** all sales on this thing: It's clearly cost nothing to engineer the hardware; the software could probably be knocked out by a couple of students in a weekend. It's a very low-risk project, catering to a small but extant niche. Laughable, definitely, but there are bound to be folk out there who'll say, "Yes please! That's exactly what I need in my life."

Good point. It’s definitely a ‘testing the waters’ experiment.
@SolidGame_basic: We call it milking the cow.
Like how Nintendo sells ports of 10 year old games for $60?
@SolidGame_basic: No, but like how Sony sells 4 year old ports for $70 😊
So if that’s milking the cow, then selling 10 year old ports for $60 is even worse 🤣 would you like to continue to own yourself today??
OOF. It looks so bad that its as if a lemming designed it, and Sony approved the design for some reason.
If this is more than $149, Sony has lost it. At $200, it is the same price as a Switch Lite which is a full handheld device. It is literally a Dual Sense cut in half and a cheap screen LCD screen put in the middle. It isn't even an OLED screen.
While I like the idea of being able to play my PS5 on a handheld, my phone with a backbone already offers what this does minus the controller gimmicks. I am just waiting to see a price on this to see which way I want to go with my toilet ps5 gaming.
That looks 🔥. I'm guessing a $149 price tag. Toilet gaming at it's finest.
I could get behind it at $149. I think the device looks good and I like the idea of having the gimmicks of the dualsense like haptics and adaptive triggers. I just hope they get the pricing right.
@Archangel3371: Why would that cost $300? It's a $69(it's $49 on sale all the time) controller and a lcd screen. Probably a super old processor since it's streaming only. I hope this is like wiiU though. Been waiting for another controller with touch screen type thing. But I doubt it's anything more than a streaming device(like remote play). Hope I'm wrong. And Vita did the streaming thing before wiiU I believe.
@joshrmeyer: Exactly. No way it should cost anywhere near $300 but it’s Sony so it wouldn’t surprise me. 😅
@joshrmeyer: Wii U released a year before PS4. But PS4 Remote play was garbage cause hardly no games worked for it due to Vita not having enough buttons. It didnt have L3/R3 or second triggers. It was a trash portable system. Thats why we called it LolVita.

The world is a mess. Sheep are cows and cows are now sheep.
Question: is it going to stream directly from ps5 like WiiU did? Or over an internet connection?
Wifi
@last_lap: "It looks like a tablet with 2 halves of a controller on either end, it looks ridiculous."
I wonder did they even try to make a better design.
I reckon Sony got a couple of work experience kids in to design it free of charge lol.
There's already a good number of smartphone controllers, Sony would be better of just making a decent tablet controller attachment because nobody thought of making one of those yet for whatever reason. We can already do remote play for PS and XB consoles though with any smartphone or tablet already, seems pointless to push a single device that only supports one system brand.
Perhaps a dedicated third party device would be better suited for it. One that can do both XB and PS local remote play.
