Proof that rdr on PS3 got gimped on purpose

These words came out of a panel discussion with rockstar. So before you fanboys hate this is what was said by LoT: Some team members felt that the Xbox 360 "got a little more love from the start." So to all you fannies out there that think the 360 got the better version... well you're right. Not because your system is more powerful, but by choice. I'm not sure what it is you think you know, but you're wrong. Alpha-blending is very hard on the PS3's GPU, since it requires a lot of bandwidth (which the GPU's 128-bit bus doesn't have) and because it only has 8 ROPs. The 360 doesn't have this problem at all since blending is done in the eDRAM, which means it's not any more expensive than drawing opaque pixels. This is why just about every PS3 game draws particles at 1/4 (or lower) res.

Teh cell needs to make teh 360 think it's powerful which would put teh 360 at peace. Then it can lure it into teh trap, and torture teh 360 till teh end of time.

I think the "PS3 can't do open world games" talking point is nonsense, but you're really blowing this article out of proportion.

First of all, it said that some team members felt that the 360 version got more love from the start. While thereisa fairchance that this is the case, it is the perception of some of the members of the team (not neccesarily gospel truth) and even if there perception is true, that doesn't equate to some conspiracy to gimp the PS3 version on purpose. It just means that the 360 version ended up getting more attention for whatever reason (and then you have to consider that the 360 is easier to develop for). It's likely that with most multiplats, one version is going to end up getting more attention. I don't see why you're making it out to sound like some big conspiracy.

this is how it will be for the rest of this gen...... the fact is that devs dont have the time nor cash to cater to the blu ray drive... it was a mistake on sonys part imo and they should have waited for other companys to ease blu ray into market instead of forcing it on devs ... its led to nothign but screen tearing,framerate problems, bad quality...
