You do realize that the ps2 was in the same position the 360 is now right? The reason a lot of ps3 users are older is because the playstation is an established brand that a ton of people grew up playing. The younger generation doesn't know about the legacy of the ps1 and ps2 era.

Add the fact that a lot of adults buy the ps3 mostly for a fancy bluray player and your argument is moot. Next generation could see a rise in the average age of the xbox user.
