Proof that this forum doesn't care about good games...

Want proof that games actually being good is the last thing on this forum's collective mind? Almost no-one is talking about World in Confflict after it being rated pretty much the game of the year at this point. To state what is obvious and everyone knows but people deny to the bitter end here, no-one here gives a rat's ass about great games, just about supporting their platform in the console war. As we sit here in the wake of a really exceptional game coming out that not a soul is talking about, rather continuing the endless bickering about this format, that exclusive, the lie told by group X about game/hardware/release date Y, this forum really lives up to its name.

The fact that the highest rated game of the year doesn't get an official thread because it simply doesn't need one is the kicker.

I get the feeling people in system wars don't even play games.

That goes w/o saying. Of course it was going to get at LEAST a 9.0. The game is simply amazing. Plus hermits are a minority here. They hang out mostly in the PC forum and keep to themselves while quoting who's "specs" are bigger... :shock:

First, there are still big games to come this year.

Second, who remembers HF2 in 2004 ? It won best shooter and it didn't even score the highest of all shooters that year.

People in System Wars seem to care more about FF7 getting remade so they can play it over again for the tenth time instead of new great games.iunderstand

I hype games I know about, and think are worth it ... world in conflict doesn't spark my interest, because of its genre. Similar to WOW for me, although I do realize theyare good games, I won't be playing them. Doesn't mean I don't care about good games, I just stick to what I know. (I know it wasn't directed specifically towards me but you said this forum... and I'm usually in it).

The core game is still a decade old and won't have the same impact as the original. Why not play an original amazing game by todays standards instead of playing a game that was great 10 years ago?

No, but it doesn't change the fact that the game is still incredible. Just because you can't play it doesn't mean it is not good.

Besides its mostly couse its on the PC and pc games in general mostly get ignored here,you would see even less on it if it werent coming out for the x360!!

Crysis is the first time since Doom3 that a PC game is featured prominently in this board!!!Mostly couse these console users are primarily turned on by graphics which IMO is really sad!

Why would you want an official thread? I am not in the minority when I say that official threads are lame. It becomes a 50 page jumbled up mess where you can barely find your own posts. Much less someones responses to your post. Everytime a game gets going I go to a dif site to talk about the game freely.

The guy who said there is no dispute over the game is right: World in Conflict is unanimously viewed as a great game, so what is there to discuss? I wouldn't mind hearing about how great it is, but any thread you made would fall off the first page fast, because not that many people have it, and the only people who talk about it are the ones praising it.

Second, thats why he said GAME OF THE YEAR not rts of the year (games that get the GOTY award have the highest score on GS for that year).

He is referring to GameSpots ratings and GameSpots game of the year awards. BioShock got a 9.0 World in Conflict got a 9.5

Most people in gaming game on consoles. Awesome games like Civ, Company of Heroes, Galactic Civ, etc are almost completely overlooked here. Also, a lot of PC gaming demographic wouldn't care for a forum like System wars (Old folks).

Its not that SW doesn't care about Good Games, it is just that they don't care about good PC games.
