Halo is the best first person shooter of all time, and here is my evidence: It is the highest scoring fps on meta critic, the most critically aclaimed, and the latest in the series is at least in the top 3 of highest selling fps games of all time (4,049,91 in one week, half life 2 could barely get 4.13 mill in 6 years!).

Whenever a topic begins with prove me wrong...you know its not going to be good.

Halo is a great FPS, but can you really say any one series is the best FPS overall?

Yet half life 2 only has 1 point less on the metacritic review scores, which are subjective. And to continue that usage Half life 2 has a significantly higher user score.

Sales dont determine the quality of a game, dont really see why that would even be brought up.

You want facts? I played Halo and didn't like it. So there, that's my fact, because I can care less what other people like, I'm the one that has to play it.

Metacritics is just taking a small group of opinions from people who run websites. If you would notice, both links I have given you showns that Gamespot (the ONLY credited website that actually specializes in game reviews) and the actual PLAYERS say both are better than Halo. Following that usage i bring up the User scores of halo and half life 2, half life 2 scores noticeably higher than halo does. There i combated your "proof" with an argument that you can not legitimately dismiss without also throwing out your main argument as to why it is the best FPS.ferret-gamer

The only facts involved in game reviews are comments about frame rates, screen tearing, and other such technical aspects. Everything else is subjective. I find Halo is, subjectively, sub par to most FPSs I've played. Therein lies the flaw in trying to, factually, prove one series is better than another.

The original Turok was more enjoyable to me than Halo, as was Goldeneye 64, as was the demo for Wolfenstein. This list keeps going, because Halo has sub par gunplay, which is, again, an opinion.

Are you really that ignorant? It doesn't matter if someone is paying him or not, he's paid to give out his opinon. Graphics are subjective (especially art direction), and some people can think a game has great AI, while others don't, neither of them are wrong. There are no facts here.
