They didn't design the combo system around percentage. You can't just tack on something like that in a fighting game. This game looks worse than Dream Mix TV World Fighters and Battle Stadium DOM.
The more different it is from that POS SSB the better. So NO!themajormayorSo, I take it to mean you're not getting this game anytime soon as it stands right now, right?

Probably not. Yes it is a SSB ripoff, I don't understand why they didn't try to be at least somewhat original. GoW Ascension MP looks much better
It wont happen, the stages are not designed for smash attacks sending opponents flying off the screen. I'm personally skeptical about the way the scoring/damage system works, but I think they could fix that by giving players the option of health bars.
That would allow regular and environmental attacks to feel like they are actually doing damage, and keep specials one hit K/O moves. When your health runs out, you respawn.
Options is what is going to make or break this game. I'm sure the way the game plays as of now is fun, but I doubt it will be taken seriously.
The game looks terrible. This would not make me want it regardless on top of the fact that in a fighting game this stuff has to be a fore thought otherwise you get broken and unclanced gameplay.

In many ways it does, but I am a guy who bought every single "terrible looking" exclusvie xbox game ever, Tao Feng, Kakato Chojin, (something else, can't think if the name) because I love fighters and were willing to give them a try no matter how bad the press presented them.
Considering my biggest complaint about PS All Stars (other than being a straight Smash rip-off) was the KO system whre the only way to defeat an opponent was by building up supers...This might push me over the edge to actually having some hope for liking the game.
I still need to see videos of this in action to form a better opinion on this first.
While I am not totally sold on PS Allstar's current concept, I don't know if I'd necessarily approve of it copying SSB's percentage system either. Allstar's wasn't even built for a % mode, so adding one in could result in sloppy, messy play.

Why wouldn't you just rent them before buying them? Not gonna tell you how to spend your money but you might have saved some dollars. Anyway, the KO system is my biggest complaint but really the thing as a whole just looks unappealing. If I want this type of thing I'll play smash bros and even then, with brawls underwhelming gameplay (love everything else about it) I might just stay away from this type of fighter permanently.

I've played Smash clones with similar mechanics. They're terrible. It's worse than Coin Battle.Already preordered. I love the combat system and hope they don't include health bars. All 4 can play through to the end and rack up a sort of k/d ratio in a fighter sense.ispeakfactHave you heard of Time Battle? It defaults to that every time you turn the game on. Sakurai wants you to try it out badly.

Sorry, but if the only method of winning is building your meter and spamming supers this is going to be a joke of a game.
While i appreciate a good Smash ripoff (i mean, its Smash!!!) i don't like how you need to perform a Super move to score.
Y'know now that I think about it, the system in this game is kinda similar to Dissidia's combat system where you build up Break points or something with regular attacks and you damage your opponents using your special attacks. Am I right on this or no?game_masta14
No but the game would be much better if it was. Basically you build up your meter to unleash super attacks and if the attack connects it's an instant KO and a point for you. The instant knock out is so unappealing and i really wish they just had a health bar for this.

Oh dude, if they get both MegaMan X and Sir Daniel in the game I'm preordering it.Nah, really all that matters is gameplay, not a playlist type (essentially that's what percentage mode is). Preferrably there will be more interesting characters than have been introduced; still holding out for Megaman and other Capcom types.

funny thing that, Wii is the only current gen system I don't own, but like I said fighting games are one of my favorite game genres and I give many "terrible looking" fighters a chance.FYI: I enjoyed every one of those "terrible looking" games I bought, maybe because I was more open minded about learning and playing them, but still!

I personally think that's awesome. Giving things a chance is awesome and all, I thought you ended up not liking those game. All is good if you are willing to give them a chance.

I think people should shut up and let the devs do whatever they are doing then they should judge the final product.
ActicEdge
Then what would we have to discuss?
Alot of people are just pissed that this game uses a battle scoring system that is different and never really used before in a fighting game which turns them off as it looks too basic or too uninteresting to them until they actually play it. Superbot would've gotten more backlash if they did do percentage style damage and people would complain they ripped off Smash Bros for it. This is the game that Sony fans have been asking for and it's pretty much exactly what they got.I think people should shut up and let the devs do whatever they are doing then they should judge the final product.

there are times when things said in system wars and other game boards that have made it to the net...sometimes developers listened to those ideas or complaints. It's good to talk about these things, this is less trollish than the majority of topics here on this board.

The final product if it flopped or met expectations :D
That sounds boring :P
Speculation is often the devil but damn is it fun :P

Most of the time when devs listen to their fans requests and do the fans service we end up with a bad product so i think we should let the dev do whatever they are doing.

If we are talking about a developer like From Software and a game (serise) like the souls games then I agree, but I think this is a special case. It's not like SuperBot entertainment has done a fighting game before so something as important as to Ok system could be game breaking.
Even if they did % mode, they would have to resdesign the stages to fit that style of gameplay, not to mention the fighting style itself doesn't suit that gameplay. If it is added, it wouldn't surprise me, but it will most definitely feel tacked on.
Only to the jelly, Spanky. Only to the jelly. :cool:i kid you not this game is non existent outside of SW
Mario1331
Nothing would make me buy that sh!tty game... I don't even know wtf were the guys at Sony thinking when they came up with that. Waste of money right there.
