Ps Neo is a controlled leak to get M$ to show their hands at E3?

Sony is finally making a comeback from last generations struggle and they will do all they can to remain the power leadership from here on out. Maybe they sent out Neo dev kits and told the developers to not expect the specs to be final. Leaks were expected somehow and M$ are to hear about it, they confidently show their hands with Scorpio at E3 while Sony is grinning and rubbing their hands together back stage, "Now we can start on the final Neo specs."

Or maybe M$ is bluffing Sony with an extremely high spec and high priced future console to bluff Sony into creating a super expensive console in retaliation only to get themselves stuck with the expensive console curse that M$ is currently suffering from, explains their Xbox move to PC

If the specs aren't finalized and they are hoping for a 2016 launch I got bad new for them.

Where is everyone getting this unsubstantiated idea that the Scorpio is going to be expensive? And really, who cares if the Neo is weaker than the Scorpio? At the end of the day Neo gamers and Scorpio gamers would be able to enjoy their games at 1080p with consistent framerate. So, stop with the conspiracy theories.

All the leaks say its launching September or October this year. Unless they scrap those plans and delay it to next fall to match Scorpio's specs then they are kind of stuck with what they have now. I'd imagine production has already started or will start very soon if its launching in a few months. I don't get why the Neo exists at all when the PS4 is already such a huge success.

Neo always had two models, model A and model B. Model A is the one with 4.2tf that DF has got their hands on, which is presumably to be the Ruse to lure MS out of the woods. Model B is the more expensive one with 5.5tf and a new CPU. It still wont win the power war but it would be very close in performance and the one year head start to the market would pretty much negate any power advantage Scorpio would have whatsoever.

The real winner is PS gamers since they can play enhanced multiplats and exclusives way earlier than Xbox gamers.

Scorpio's 6 TFLOPS GPU is like $199 RX-480 with 1310 Mhz clock speed. XFX has 1328 Mhz factory overclock version.

Only problem is MS has absolutely no idea when Sony is gonna announce Neo's specs and they're not about to be like sitting ducks waiting indefinitely for it. MS have their own plan and if Scorpio with its current specs is to be launched on target then it will need to follow the set schedules, milestones etc. Of course, unless they plan to delay the launch and lose more market share to Sony.

If seriously doubt Sony has 2 versions of the Neo. They basically stated that both platforms are a mandatory support. 4.2 TF and 1.8 TF is a pretty large gap. Now the new rumor of a 5.5 TF Neo would make the performance gap a rather large hurdle. You have to program to the lowest denominator. This is probably the reason Microsoft didnt make a mandate to have no Scorpio exclusive games. Either you would have Scorpio games that look like shit, or Scorpio games that cannot run on the Xbone. Dynamic resolution would only get you so much wiggle room.

Both Sony and MS sourced their chips from the same chip vendor(i.e. AMD) and MS is not going to make the same mistake as Xbox One i.e. MS allocated large chip area space for the 32 MB ESRAM, while XBO has the larger SoC when compared to PS4's SoC

Yes what if PS Neo isn't in production and instead Sony come out with PS5 and it has a slightly better gpu and costs like 50-100 dollars less the day scorpio launches.

IMO, you'd be better served accepting the fact that the Neo will not be as powerful as the Scorpio, and instead focus on the cool PS content you are looking forward to playing. Games already looked good on PS3, and you're going to get bent out of shape over whether a system that is astronomically more advanced (the Neo) is weaker than some other gaming system? Are the games good or not? That's the question you should focus on. Don't worry, eventually a PS5 will come out that is more powerful than the Scorpio. And then a Tarantular will come out that is more powerful than the PS5. And then a PS6 will come out that... it doesn't matter. None of that matters. Are the games good or not? Does it deliver the content that you want to play?

There were 2 models all alone,i am sure MS could have 2 as well who knows,sony's one is confirmed by a leaker on Neogaf,many companies have some times more than 1 model or make last minute changed Sony changed from 4GB to 8GB at last minute,ms changed the 360 memory from 256MB to 512 MB because of Epic as last minute as well.

5.5 tflops but will the GPU be as good as the one Scorpio uses? Sony releases sooner its more then likely not going to have the better hardware by holidays 2017.

Well PS4 has been the most powerful video game console in the world since 2013, and SONY can take pride in knowing they forced MS to drop kinect, shit can their entire vision of the X1 and now, produce a more powerful console.

It doesn't matter when they release specs since NEO is supposed to launch this year. Hell they could release specs the same day as the NEO and MS would still have time to update Scorpio if it so desired. So my point is that it's a dumb theory. Sony isn't trying to "ruse" MS into anything and makes no sense since they're releasing well before the Scorpio.
