PlayStation Now‘s pricing model has ruffled feathers between fans and even between many of those that were enthusiastic about the service before. In the meanwhile Sony seems to be looking into more options, as shown by a survey seeking for the testers’ opinion on possible “Deluxe versions” of games.

Apparently the Deluxe option would prompt users to pay 15% more in order to get access to all the DLC coming with a game, while we also get a question on possible further rental periods.

Of course this doesn’t mean that Sony Computer Entertainment is going to implement the option for sure, as this kind of surveys are designed to gauge preliminary interest in the option, but it’s very likely that there will be some kind of support for DLC, whether in this form or another.

Would you pay 15% on top of the original price for this kind of PlayStation Now version of a season pass?'

The program won't work well with my Wi-Fi, but it seems alright for anyone with something worthy of it.

I'm not much of a renter, something I've said for years now. I'm the collector type. When Now was first revealed years ago, I spoke that it wasn't a service for me, but I could see benefits to those that rent games.

I did get access to the Now Beta for free, which meant free game rentals for a bit which was cool. It worked wonderful with my Wifi setup, but I do have fast internet and the #1 ranked consumer Wifi router currently available.

Meh. It's probably not an unreasonable amount, at least for a recent title. An older game I'd probably want the DLC included in the base price.

But honestly, it's easy for me to say because I'm planning to use the service very, very rarely if I ever do at all. Sony has to convince publishers to price their content at a level that consumers will see it as a value. From the initial prices that looks like it's going to be an uphill battle.

Really depends, if it's a GOTY edition, it should be cheaper off course

I gave up on it when they started to charge to rent the games in the beta. I could see them putting the price there for reference, but to charge people in the beta to play old games...greedy.

Serious question. Do you all think playstation now will be successful? I mean, I know it may take a while to get the bugs fixed and for everything to work right. But will that even matter if nobody is interested in the first place?

Why do we have to rent with this service? how about just straight up buying a game say Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time for $9.. now that would be nice instead of renting :/

A service like this should be priced at $1.99 a day, $3.99 for 3 and $5.99 for 5. All the content available with the game at the time should be hosted. Anything beyond this would make it cheaper to just buy the game, even if you are just going to trade it in after you finish it.

Do you really want to buy streamed games? Sounds as stupid to me as buying streamed video (like some of Amazon Prime Instant).

This ^ ^ ^

I'd be better of buying the GOTY edition with all the extra DLC included.

The rental part just completely sucks.

They'd be better off doing it $9.99 a month for access to everything or $99.99 a year. This probably wouldn't be a great bargain to start, but once they have over 500-600 titles in the library, that wouldn't be a bad deal. What do they have right now? 40-50 titles? Renting a game for $5.99 a week is just lame.

Good industry first. Many DLC is over price and 15% is very reasonably. Many gamer miss out of DLC because price and dlc comes month later and maybe they sold game. I know many who did not play red dead zombie dlc and move to other game.

If they had say... $5 for a 5 day rental, and you wanted the "deluxe" edition, at 15%, that comes to $5.75 for 5 days. Is that really that bad?

Also, I can see older games having it already included, while newer games are separate editions.

*These are arbitrary prices and rental days I just came up with. Take them as is.

You can just pay $9.99 at gamefly and get whatever game you want and play it for however long you want. Won't have to worry about lag. The monthly service would be the best way to go with this, hands down.

Sony what are you doing to us? This is the biggest load of BS they could ever pull. It is an insult to gamers and supporters.

It is funny. Well I commend Sony for gauging the response first, but I think they are going to be disappointed in the lack of interest. It just doesn't make sense, imo. Renting DLC?

It looks like they are trying to do everything they can to do a per-game pay model for psNow. The problem is netflix. Consumer has gotten so used to value based streaming that Sony has no choice but to follow.
