Portal is too short
I liked Yukiko's character lol. The dungeons blow, so I'll give you that, but the overall experience transcend the dungeon's suckiness in general.
Portal is NOT too short. It's the perfect length it needs to be. It shows you all it's tricks and puzzle combinations and then ends. It is almost the only game that doesn't wear out its welcome.
I could just say "Portals length isn't an issue since the overall experience transcends it". That's a crappy response Chaz and you know it :P
See, Portal 2 was longer, and it never outstayed its welcome. Portal 1, for all its ingenuity (and it had a LOT of it, don't get me wrong, I loved the game), was a concept demo more than anything else. Portal 2 was what expanded on it.
Anyway, I do agree Persona 4's dungeons are pretty awful. Golden doesn't fix the core issue- the dungeon design is still pretty bad- but it puts bandages on the experience by adding features like SOS, or the fact that deaths mean you only have to retry the floor instead of the full dungeon, and so on.
Like I said, Golden hits the mark pretty close, man. In terms of pure game design, nah, Portal is definitely better (or Link to the Past, or Super Mario Galaxy 2). But as an experience on the whole? Golden is able to transcend its issues and feel perfect. That's what I meant :P
