The only reason I would get the PS vita so far is because of the Uncharted prequel. Though I am sceptical because it is not being made by Naughty Dog. I also want to get the 3DS because of the Legend of Zelda Orcina of Time because I never got N64 to play it and I hear it was a must play game.

Get both. Like with the PSP and DS, I am sure both will be worth owning with a great selection of games.

Yeah I would get both the only problem is it would cost me a lot of money and I am only working one day on the weekends because the guy who schedules me is a dick and wont give me more hours. I am thinking about getting another job but that could take a while.

I will probably get both, but I will have to see what games come out of it. Only Vita game I truly want on day-1 is Sound Shapes, but it's still not a game I would buy Vita solely for. While 3DS has Super Mario 3DS confirmed, OoT 3DS released, and will eventually get a Pokemon and a new Zelda, and even maybe a new F-Zero (which would be insane on 3D)

I understand, monetary issues can be a pain in the backside :P In that case, well, are there any other games on the 3DS/Vita that you might be interested in? What system has more games that you want? I'd suggest you go with that one for now, and buy the other one later when you've saved up for it/when it's cheaper.

I am thinking of just waiting a while for the price to drop on both and see if any other games that I like come out on those handhelds. I got to ask though how much is a game for the 3DS?

I may hold off on the Vita, wait for Vita 3000 because it's quite chunky a slim version of it would be amazing.

A 3DS game can be anything from $30-$50. Take $40 as the standard price though, that's what most games retail for.

Don't waste your money on the 3DS, that's just another Virtal Boy and it willprobably be pulled from the market by the time the Vita comes out. Why would you want to play a torture simulator on your eyes when you can get a superior product made by a company that knows how to do things right? Nintendo should just leave 3D to the professionals and go back to making wii dance party 500 or whatever the next watered down Mario game is.

Sony has it in the bag.

I'm not a fanboyI like Nintendo games and 360 games too, in fact I am eagerly awaiting the next Smash Bros.

But Sony just simply does it better and the proof is with their sytems. Sony will dominate next gen just like they did with this one and the one before that. The WiiU is laughable at best and the 3DS is just a gimmick, Sony knows how to do 3D right so it's not even worth it for Nintendo to try and compete against them.

Sony dominated this gen? That's news to me. Just a heads up, it's 2011. Not 2001.

I bought the 3DS and I think it was definitely worth it. Especially since I've never owned the original DS, so I'm borrowing my friends' games and going through them.

There weren't any Vita games that impressed me at E3 BUT the tech looks cool.

On the other hand, there were 3DS games that impressed me, but the tech is too underwhelming for the asking price.

hm, the Vita, which is almost as powerful as a PS3 for $250 or the 3DS, which is barely more powerful than a PSP for $250. Why on earth would anyone choose the 3DS? I get that it might have good games, but they are selling very old technology for a premium price. What a joke.

Really?

In a business sense it's horrible sales look good how exactly?

From the consumer side it's complete lack of games spurs your interest how?

I'm not too quick to jump the bandwagon these days.

I figure, Vita will eventually get games I'll find interesting and the tech should look pretty cool down the line as well.

Meanwhile, the 3DS has some cool looking games, and in the future we can expect hardware revisions to help with certain aspects as well as a lower pricepoint down the line.

So eventually I think I could see both systems becoming worthwhile. As they are now, both are stuck at the halfway mark for me.

I plan to get both, but I will wait to get the 3DS until it drops to $200 or less. Not sure if the Vita is a day one purchase or if I will wait for a special edition Vita to release as a bundle with a game. I would like to get a bright orange one.

3DS is failing and it's got zero software worth playing right now, the only thing saving it in the marketplace is that it can play DS games (poorly)

I don't much care what Nintendo says is coming, they said there'd be a lineup worth playing on the 3DS at launch and it's garbage

Well, considering that all games that I listed barring Resident Evil are slated for a 2011 release, I think that it's not a matter of them coming out at some point, but more a matter of how I can afford so many of them in less than six months. And yes, those games are awesome. Look at their pedigree, tell me that that lineup does not excite you. And right now, the 3DS has Ocarina 3D, it has Super Street Fighter IV, it has Dead or Alive Dimensions, it has Shadow Wars... it might not have the greatest lineup in the world, but it has enough for a system that is THREE MONTHS OLD. But I see you're adamant on not giving either the system or Nintendo a chance, so I will not bother with you anymore. Carry on.

Because its upcoming lineup is unbelievably good?

Oh really? So games that might come at some point are just awesome?

3DS is failing and it's got zero software worth playing right now, the only thing saving it in the marketplace is that it can play DS games (poorly)

I don't much care what Nintendo says is coming, they said there'd be a lineup worth playing on the 3DS at launch and it's garbage

the 3ds is not failing its selling more then the ds did when it first arrived, ur underestimating it

anyways get both the 3ds is awesome and the vita will be too thats what im doing

You can say the same with Vita.

No you can't

The 3DS is out already with no games failing in the marketplace

The Vita isn't even here yet, it's launch software is still being made

It depends on which games you're more interested in. I had a 3DS (gave it to my daughter since her ds broke) and while the games weren't bad they were nothing to write home about. Nintendo has an interesting lineup coming this holiday season though. I'm personally more interested in what the PS Vita has to offer but I'll still play the "big name" titles on my daughters 3DS this winter.

It all depends on your tastes in games. The Vita is improving on the PSP's thing of bringing the console experience to a handheld while Nintendo is continuing it's classic style of doing handhelds. If you can end up affording it, do what I'm doing and get both. They Vita looks really awesome and the 3DS is a great system.

Both portables look great. I already own a 3DS, but I plan on buying a PSV once I see some more games for it.

The PSP was more powerful than the DS as well. Look what happened there.

Not trying to open a can of worms, just saying..

Once some interesting RPGs are announced for Vita, I don't really have any interest in buying it. Right now I'll stick with Nintendo games and wait for a Dissidia sequel for it.

3DS looks to have some sure fire great games on the horizon, but I won't lie and say psv doesn't look pretty great--possibly better than 3DS. I'm one of those people that only really wants to buy one portable system, so part of me regrets buying a 3DS so soon. Not because I dislike it, but because psv really does look that impressive.

3DS will probably drop in price sooner than expected, I think. Or perhaps a pack in bundle is in the works. Nintendo made a mistake there. If they would have had Mario Kart ready for launch, and packed it in with the system, EVERYBODY would have bought it. It may have cost them initially, but system sales would be through the roof.

Vita interests me a lot more. Never liked the DS, ditto 3DS. Not my thing. :P

The only PSV game I've seen that I want is Gravity.
