PS VS XBOX Who started it?

Just curious as I would never even think to be rude to someone for playing a different console than me. As a PS player this "war" became apparent to me because it seems like Sony fans get attacked but that may just be because I hang with the PS crowd. Although I never really had seen ps players talking shit until provoked. Also everyone in real life I talk to seem to think Xbox players are the haters. Even friends of mine who only play Xbox say that the community is immature and are for the most part jerks.

So which side do you think is guilty of being asses more? Ps or Xbox?
