PS1 Classic Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy 7 coming to PSN

Well soon enough, you won't have to ask that question again, as the word is that Sony will be bringing a big chunk of PSN classics to the North American PS Store. Even more specific, they plan on bringing 3 of the titles which helped make PlayStation king. Those 3 titles are Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil: Director's Cut, and (drum roll please...) Final Fantasy VII.

I wonder who pushed for this and why. It's certainly interesting in the context of a Final Fantasy XIII multiplat.

Given Final Fantasy VII's popularity and strong demand, will this mean more Final Fantasy XIII PS3 versions sold?

Well considering I all three of those games are available on Japan's PSN, it should be common sense that they can do it for the US and EU ps stores. I haven't had a copy of mgs1 for years and never played ffvii and I would gladly dl them to play on my psp. I also want all the dino crisis, and re games that are available on the JPN store. I really want to play re2 on psp bc I loved that game when I played it on pc back in the day and RE5 was a massive disappointment t expected so i want my fix of a good Re game

Yea I hope one of the things they bring up in the E3 conference is showing PS1 game support on PSN and not just in japan. Its nice to be abel to play these game at home or my PSP.

i have hard copies of FF7 and MGS but not RE... its funny tho, cuz i probably wont get RE but i will the other 2, just so i dont have to swap discs... yes im that lazy... plus hopfully they clean up the graphics just a little... what i would really love is just either FF7HD or FF7 remake!!!

We had crash 2 for a month or two before they took it off.

Amazing news. FFVII is really hard to get for a reasonable price in EU. Hope it comes to the EU store, if not I'll get the NA version.

I don't see the point in putting them on for a month or two and just take them off for no reason.They could at else say that it's only on for a limited time.

All of those games are already avalible on PSN Japan.

This isn't really news as it is just a matter of time until this stuff comes to the US Store.

WEll I think this is meant for those who missed out on PS1 and i pretty sure there are a few. Also some people may want to play these games on the go.

FFVII is an ok game. If you played VIII and IX youll probably be underwhelmed though....

Even though I own all three of them, I'd definitely be up for buying FF7 again, as not all of the discs work. Disc 2 is scratched to hell. Same as the second disc for MGS. I played through it recently, and it took forever to finish the game because it kept crashing. Resident Evil is nice, but I already own four copies of it :P

Where the heck is XenoGears and Vagrant Story? (the two best Square titles besides Chrono Trigger)

I have REmake, a copy of FF7 and have played MGS before (Both original and the Twin Snakes). What PSN needs is Xenogears in NA.
