PS2 vs Xbox vs GameCube [POLL]

I did love the PS2's library, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Tekken amoung others, but nothing came close to how much me and my mates played Super Smash Bros Meele, from all our gamecubes combined id say definitly over 1,000 hours. I loved the Gamecube, i personally loved the controller, loding times were pretty much non existent and it was a cube! :P It also had loads of quality exclusive, most of them being from nintendo naturally. I only really played Halo 2 on the xbox, played loads at freinds houses but never actually owned an Xbox. Overall I'd say i got the most enjoyment out of the Gamecube.

Well according to metacritic.

PS2 = 63 AAA

Gamcube = 26 AAA

Xbox = 32 AAA

PS2 > Xbox > Gamecube

Of course it all comes down to personal preference though

Yeah, the initial "Duke" was horrible, but the later model was great. And still, the games it did have were as a matter of fact, pretty darn good, like Ninja Gaiden, Halo CE and Conker Live and reloaded

I prefer the Gamecube more simply because there exclusive appeal to me more.

Halo, PGR, GR, SC, On-line NFL 2K, NBA 2K, Top Spin, Links 2004...etc.

I'd say xbox, a MUCH needed step forward in controller ergonomics, console graphics, online and hardware

IMO, the GCN controller is the most perfect standard controller ever conceived. The only thing they messed up on was that Z button. That was just awkward.

Last gen I had a Dreamcast, PS2, and GCN I still prefer my GCN to the other two that I had.

I have to say gamecube, it had my favorite games on consoles, mabey even to this day. Windwaker was just pure awsome.

RE4 (better version) are just a few examples of it's awesomesauce.

I enjoyed GameCube best. The only thing that annoyed me a little was that it was missing out on some multiplatform games (like Burnout 3).

I prefered my GC although I did still play my PS2 a lot, didn't pick up an xbox until the end of the gen and wasn't too impressed with it.

Last gen was awesome!

I voted ps2 but all three of them were very much worth owning at the same time unlike this gen.

The GC but mainly for its first party and Resident Evil.

The PS2 is a very close second.

the xbox was and still is my choice for 6th gen due to kotor and Fable

PS2 by far. Better games and it had a lot longer lifespan than the other 2.

Hey, this thread is from Feb this year, I wrote that 8-9 months ago!

Have all three of them still. PS2 has more games than any other, XBOX and GC have some great games though. I have dozens of PS2 games, for XBOX I have Riddick game, Halos, Fable, Jade Empire and some others, for GC I have RE4, Zelda (both), Mario Sunshine. I have almost all exclusives for PS2 and a lot of multiplatforms. So I'll give the edge to the PS2.

XBOX had way better graphics though.

lets end this last gen battle, which console was the best.

PS2, hands down all I got to say is MGS 3(cuz the gamecude got a remake of MGS1 and the xbox got a port of MGS2), Kingdom hearts 1&2 andGod of War 1&2. the PS2 was a great console and is said to be the best console of all time but which do u think is best

How interesting that I did not respond to this thread back in Feburary yet I had voted.....

Anyway, People are fooling themselves if they think the Xbox or Gamecube won last Gen cause everyone should have known that the PS2 was the Clear Winner last gen.

Gamecube for me

Definitely XBOX for me.

And it wasn't Live that sold me (and I still don't have Live).

It was:

1. 8GB HDD
2. Halo
3. Games & Genres it focused on
4. 4 controller ports
5. break away cords
6. custom soundtrack ripper
7. DVD player (despite a remote dongle needed)
8. S-controllers

same here, add pgr series,ralli sport challenge, ninja gaiden, jsrf,conker,forza etc

PS2 was the perfect console.

Gamecube had some good games.

XBox was pretty decent.
