PS3 60GB $500 and Elite $480?

Ok this is great news for cows, it really is! I really wished they still sold 20GB versions and dropped them to $400 also. The elite NEEDS to drop to $400, sell the premium for $300 and the core for $200. If they dont, i dont see ALOT of MS consoles selling. The PS3 looks GREAT for $500, same price as the cheapest standalone Blu-ray player. And this is coming from a Hermit/lemming. ;) What you guys think is going to happen to MS' prices? Anyone now gunna get a PS3 for the $500 price? dracolich666

MS will drop the price of the 360 soon enough. The core will be less then the Wii.

Sure it looks good for the high end consumer, I mean if someone is willing to pay for an Elite 360 im sure they have no problem also getting a PS3, but the majority of consumers wanting a 360 will get either the core or premium (like moms buying it for an xmas present) simple as that.

not many are willing to pay for the elite either. they are an extreme minority compared to ppl that bought consoles last gen.

Not as many as the 360, but yes they do have some great games out.

You think a person that doesn't want an elite would go spend 20 more dollars for a similar system?

As it stands the Elite and the PS3 cater to the high end crowd. Only someone from System Wars would notice a difference, not a casual gamer. Just "How can I play Madden and GTA cheapest"?

If Sony drops the PS3's price, then MS wil lower the 360's prce too, they're just waiting for the other camp to do it first. MS launched nearly two years ago, so they can justify a cut soon.

It will still help both console's sales though.
