I am looking for a console to replace the use of my PC gaming days.
I already have a Wii, in case that's important. I Will either buy an
80GB PLAYSTATION 3, or an XBOX 360 Elite.
Before you answer, here are a few things to keep in mind; My parents do not allow me to
play M rated games:evil: except CALL OF DUTY. And my wired connection is kind of bad and is overloaded easily.
The way I see it: Graphics: PS3
Controls:both:roll:
Games: Undecided (Any suggestions?)
Online: PS3 (it is free and can be wireless, where i have a better connection):)
Price: PS3 (I actually find the 80GB cheaper online than the elite 360):D
If you have any suggestions for the console I should buy, please tell me why I should buy it, along with any disagreements to the statements I have made. Thank you for the help:)

Go to a Gamestore, Look at the walls for both system's, and see what really grabs you.

i say u get the ps3 it feels better knowing that u have a machine that has real techlonogical attributes . for example: ps3 bluray

360 dvd

ps3bluetooth

360 cheap 3.4 gigahertz controllers

ps3 contollers dont use batteries

360 u have to buy batteries

ps3 wi fi built in

360 wifi seperate

ps3 hardware failure 0.02%

360 failure 30%

ps3 now has great game library

360 has same library

ps3 has like about 4 games coming out in 2008 that are exclusive resistance2 ,socom, littlebigplanet, motorstorm pacif rift

360 1= fable 2 the only one worth getting

This is good advice, but future titles should also be taken into consideration.

I have both consoles,

graphically they are same.

online community, though xblive is better, but ps3 is free.

hardware failure, xb360 has improved alot , and have3 three years waranty, while ps3 only one year.

by the way, why don't you buy a $199 xb arcade.

I have both, the Elite and the 80GB PS3 and IMO, the 360 is the better choice, it has a broader game library of the 2. (To me, games is what counts)

i say u get the ps3 it feels better knowing that u have a machine that has real techlonogical attributes . for example: ps3 bluray

360 dvd (I'll give you this one; I'm glad to have a PS3 due to the blu-ray player)

ps3bluetooth

360 cheap 3.4 gigahertz controllers (honestly, I don't really care which one I use, as long as it works. it's nice that you can use any bluetooth with the PS3, but the 360 controllers work just as well from a wireless perspective)

ps3 contollers dont use batteries (uh...yes they do; did you think they ran on magic?)

360 u have to buy batteries (or buy the rechargeable pack. and when the PS3 controller's battery dies, what then? how do you replace it? it's nice to have the option of going to AAs if you want to...)

ps3 wi fi built in

360 wifi seperate (good deal on the PS3 side)

ps3 hardware failure 0.02% (uh no)

360 failure 30% (uh no. neither of these statistics has been proven)

ps3 now has great game library

360 has same library (plus MORE games.)

ps3 has like about 4 games coming out in 2008 that are exclusive resistance2 ,socom, littlebigplanet, motorstorm pacif rift

360 1= fable 2 the only one worth getting (to quote myself, "uh no". ever heard of Gears of War, for example?)

i say u get the ps3

I say you get whichever system has a more appealing library to you. If you have an HDTV and are interested in blu-ray, buy a PS3. But if you just want games, don't be surprised if you learn towards the 360.

Imo:
Controls: both
Games: 360 because it has more and better exclusives, as well as more and cheaper and better games.
Online: 360 because the online is better and is actually fun, most of your friends probably have 360 with online so you can play with them whereas I doubt you have any friends with ps3 online or a ps3 at all. All of my friends have 360s with online and a lot more people play online so the online is more fun because there is a wide variety of people.
Price: 360 60gb pro for $300 = ftw.
360 wins.
Also to the guy that said 30% failure rate, it was actually 33% but with the new Xbox 360s with the falcon chip its down to 10% which is a 22% less chance of rrod, as well as the lite-on and benq drives being a lot quiet than the previous drives, as well as having a 3 year warranty for FREE. The 360s game library is WAY bigger and BETTER than the ps3s game library. Get the 360 60gb pro for $300.

I got a 360 back in 06 and I got a PS3 in the MGS4 bundle and let me tell you I am enjoying the PS3 more, you can do more with it, its difficult to explain I just feel like I got more for my money's worth, also I got RROD.

Can't wait for LBP and NUNS

If you get an 80GB it is important to know that only the Motorstorm Bundle and MGS4 Bundle have Backwards compatibility, there was a rare set of 80 GB SKUs without Motorstorm right after Christmas that had BC but there would be no way to tell.

Get the MGS4 Bundle if they are still around you get a lot for your money, you get:

80GB PS3 *With Backwards Compatibility*

Metal Gear Solid 4

Dualshock 3

PSN game PAIN for free

$499

Ok so this guy lists points where the PS3 is better than the XBox, he forgot to mention you can add any SATA HDD to the PS3 which costs less then the XBox. So instead of countering the argument with points where the XBox is better you call him a fan boy. So it seems to me he won the argument since you have no counter argument to his statements.

Don't buy any console and upgrade your PC. I feel that buying all the console this generation left me with no money to upgrade my pc, and its breaking my heart!!!

360 online is fun, and more of his friends have 360 online than PS3, wow do you hang out with this guy's friends
Price: 360 60gb pro for $300 = ftw.
$100 more get a Blu-Ray player and 80gb (more than enough)
360 wins.

10% is still a 1 in 10 chance... the 360's game library is also similar, and most certainly not better, they are equal.
You are just as much of a fanboy as the Pro-PS3 huy who posted before

Go for the ps3. Better games and has better and more features.

And you dont want to miss out on LittleBigPlanet, R&C Tools of Destruction :)
