How is the PS3 anything like the Dreamcast?
It had a steallar launch lineup... a stupendous online service... easy to pirate games... it had EVERYTHING!
If anything, the PS3 is just going to do horribly compared to the PS2.

I think PS3 won't sell as much as PS2, but it won't do horribly compared to PS2. I see it selling about 75 Million after 10+ years of consistant WW sales. I see it beating out Wii and Xbox 360 BUT the numbers will be much more even this round.
From what Ive seen of the ps3s sales, games and online service i feel it will meet the same fate as the dreamcast. Except the dreamcast actually had more than 1 or 2 original titles. You look at the innovation of the wii and the solidity of the 360 the ps3 to me seems like a computer hooked up to a tv. spazdawgthats funny, when i hook the wii up to a tv i think gamecube. lol seriously, anyone who prases wii and chastises PS3 is an immediate hypocrite, especially when using a games argument.

PS lasted for 10 years.
PS2 has been selling for 7+ years and is still going strong. I see it going for 3 or 4 more years.
Do the math.
Sony supports thier consoles for the long run. PS3 is built for the long-term and Sony has positioned it's strategy around that idea from the begining of it's conception.

Okay, people, history lesson.
Sega: Started having troubles at genesis, they were doing good till they started slaping stuff on like the 32x and cd, still most people didn't mind. Then the Saturn came out, back then KB toys was a huge dealer, when they didn't recieve their shipments from sega they said they wouldn't be selling saturns, because i guess they were childish. Then the saturn turned out to be less then satisfing in both sales and games. The dreamcast came out years later as segas last bit of hope to get out of their financial troubles, due to their entire reputation being destroyed, the dreamcast didn't sell very well and sega went down to being a 3rd party dev.
PS3: Sony runs it, currently in no financial trouble, no reason to call it dead, still being sold.

Kojima just said today that the 360 cant handle MGS4,so it's a no-show on Microsofts console dude. The 360 is a good console, but they need more variety in games to convince me to consider it as competition fro Sony's Ps3.The past does not make the future, Trading_Zoner. really?
are you from the future? Because I could have sworn that we were only in this gens. first year?
I love how Nintendo and Xbox fanboys jump the gun WAY too early.
It will just make the end of this gen. THAT much more satisfying when PS3 emerges as the winner.
You all are missing this ^^ RIGHT HERE ^^ None of the companies but nintendo could be "Dreamcasted" because at the moment all are doing financially well, and its doubtful nintendo will either because they are making crazy profit, i just listed them because they aren't a multiproduct super company.Okay, people, history lesson.

I agree, the Ps2 will be here for atleast 2 more years,3rd party devs know there's still alot of money that can be made from the system. The Ps3 is futureproof, thus,it can last for 5-7 years whilst still being ahead of the "competitors".Okay, people, history lesson.

No finicial trouble sony is up the creek without a paddle, errr lets see they managed to take one of thier only profitable divisions and turn it into the biggest lossing division, which is the games division. Sony bet the farm on the PS3's success. They won't die if the PS3 doesn't sell, but if it doesn't sell you won't see another console out of them for along time. I don't know I think the sony has stalled they will have to drop the price on the PS3 in order to move them at any rate close to the 360 or the WII. Also if they do drop the price what is to say the 360, and the WII don't drop thier prices.
360 has a better variety of games than the PS3.KrazyKenKutaragThe top 5 360 games after 1 year:GeOW,GRAW,Rainbow Six,PDZ,Oblivion. This is not what I call variety.

Sega was different then sony in every way. I see what you are saying but if sony is anything like microsoft they apparently won't care if their gaming devision is losing money. I love your enthusiasm, but i just can't see sony dropping out of the console race for a while, hell, maybe the ps3 will be their last system for a while but it may be near the end of its life before they do that. Too many angry customers would hurt sony much more then anything else if they cut its life support too soon.
Actually PSP has seen a large spike in sales recently, and now there is a price drop so i can imagine it getting even better.psp sales are droppin the ps3 isnt sellin well im not seein two many good games comin out for ps2 soon yup there really gonna continue to dominate the console market(sarcasm intended)
