Nintendo made a mistake with the WiiU. It's going to have better graphics than ps3/360 but so far all i'ts looking at is multiplats and the only exclusive we know which is Pikmin. The WiiU is most probably going to be very expensive and gamers are just going to look at it and say "why? We already have HD consoles if we wanted to play multis with better graphics we'd get a PC" Also the casual crowd will look at it and it's price tag and say "yeeeeah...I already have a wii thank you very much."
There are going to be two different Smash Bros games as well, one for Wii U, the other for 3DS. So two exclusives actually.Nintendo made a mistake with the WiiU. Xbox 360's XCGPU die size can be replace with Radeon HD 4770 and 3 PPE i.e. deliver better tech with similar bill of materials cost.
Cheaper Radeon HD4670 can run DM4 PC at 1080p while Xbox 360 runs it in 720p.
Xbox 360's GPU is no match againstRadeon HD 4670.

Well I'm sorry but I have no idea what any of that meant but because Nintendo is a gaming only company they tend to overprice their hardware no matter how much it costs to manufacture. The controller will likely add to the cost even though it looks rather cheaply made but still. I don't see this thing selling for any less than $350.
the only exclusive we know which is Pikmin.

There's an exclusive from Ubisoft and I'm pretty sure there's a new NSMB featuring Miis, unless that was just a tech demo. Wait until next year/E3 2012 and it'll be flooded with exclusives.
I have a PC, yet I'll probably get a few multiplats like Darksiders 2 on Wii-U instead of PC for the extras/bonuses,

360 can easilly stand another year after WiiU, the sales are amazing, so late 2013 or 2014 is my prediction of xbox 720 release

Xbox 360 slim's fusion chip i.e. 169 mm^2 in size.
Replace the Xbox 360's Graphics Core with Radeon HD 4670 (320 stream processors) or 4770 (640 stream processors, 137 mm^2 in size).
PS; Smaller chip size = cheaper material cost.
im not going to count the wii u out people douubted the wii and look what happened. As long as there are kids and mario in the world parents will buy it for there kids
graphically i think it will be just a bit better then 360/ps3 also i dont expect a ps4 or new 360 untill maybe 2014
lol @ people thinking MS will release the next xbox in 2014 ... first quarter of 2013 the latest. MS is not Sony, they don't care about longevity at all, they have proved this time and time again.
It will be several times more powerful than hd twins and it will show us some nice graphics improvements (particulary greatly improved textures a larger scale of games). Next gen PS and XBOX will eventualy outperform it, but not by much (much like PS2 vs Gamecube).
Also we will witness a return of some interesting genres and maybe even a new few new ones on the console thanks to the revolutionary controller (imagine Dungeon Keeper 3 where you build a dungeon on your touchscreen and control a monster on your main screen at the same time).
Time and time again? This is only their second gen in the console business.lol @ people thinking MS will release the next xbox in 2014 ... first quarter of 2013 the latest. MS is not Sony, they don't care about longevity at all, they have proved this time and time again.

Miyamoto said he is personally handling the Wii U Zelda and he said he wants it out in about 2 years.I will not buy WiiU just to be able to play Ps3/360 games. It will take a new Zelda game in HD or a Metroid game not made by Team Ninja to make me get one.

This Monday, October 10th was the date of the concert in tribute to 25 years in the series The Legend of Zelda, Japan.Nicolas had the pleasure to attend this special concert, the height of two tickets that allowed him to share an unforgettable evening in the company of over 1000 other fans.In the evening, all the big names have a Nintendo appearance, such as Eiji Aonuma, Koji Kondo and Shigeru Miyamoto, of course. The latter, occurring several times, even said so quite official thathe will personally take care of the next Zelda on Wii U.We will come back shortly on the evening's Nicolas lived, living with a thousand emotions the talent of the Philharmonic.but we thought it was important to share this info about Shigeru Miyamoto as soon as possible, although we will probably wait about two years before a new Zelda is available after Skyward Sword! Thanks to Nicolas for sharing this info with us, giving us the absolute freshness: it will not say that it is excluded, but it's like!

Well... how i see it as short as possible. Wii-U release. Multis find their way on Wii-u. Wii-U though WONT be the leading platform so it ends up getting ports so just provides better filters and maybe higher resolution of same games. Nothing more. PS4/X720 release , Wii-U cant compete after 2 years with multis , starting to losing multis because of the low end hardware like Wii did , after 2 years Wii-Wii releasing which will be slightly better than PS4/X720 . Thats my short prediction. But i might be totally wrong. We will seeHow do you predict the 2 will stack up against the WiiU, graphically, and all around. Thats the issue i see as well. Im not fan of mario franchise . I like Zelda alot but i wouldnt buy a 300++euros console just to play 1-2 games. And more than that i wouldnt buy a console to play same games with slightly better graphics than the very cheap 7 years old consoles.
Nintendo will see my $$ if they got many great third party exclusives for Wii-U that WONT be on par with PS3/X369 but be way better , at graphics at least , and if console will be able to compete with PS4/X720 when they release.
The big issue is not if Wii-U can compete with PS3/X360...but what will do with PS4/X720..when DX11 will be a standard , new graphics engines and very demanding games will start developing... Will have a healthy life or will end up another low end product which might lead to premature death, like Wii, and loss of great third party exclusives/multis?...
Only time will tell ... We will see
The WiiU will demolish the 360 and PS3 in hardware. People aren't realizing how incredibly outdated these system are.
And to answer your second question, my prediction is Xbox 3 announcment at E3 2012 and release next October; PS4 announcement at E3 2012, release Q2 2013.

Exactly. Microsoft's entire philosophy isn't to keep three or four different products in the same line going at one time. When they release a new thing, that's they focus.
Graphically, it will be significantly more powerful, but how much more no one know's atm.
Gamewise is wait and see as well.
All I know is it better not be another Wii situation, but I think it will turn out to be one hell of a console. We just have to wait and see...

60fps is a no :P
Of course developers will still be shooting for 30fps to get the best graphics possible out of the consoles. This is just how it's been since gen 5.
1080p though I'm pretty sure will be the norm.

Nintendo will always go for 60 FPS because that is what they usually try to do.Nintendo has a lot of games at 60 FPS this gen and they had 3 games at 60FPS last gen; The fifth gen they had one game at 60FPS (F-Zero X on the N64).

Microsoft does significantly more than just make Xboxes...
I think the PS3/360 will do just fine because so far most the games for the Wii U are multiplats. Hopefully Nintendo will market the cool ways to use the controller in these games. I still feel that either MS or Sony (probably MS), will release a new console a year after the Wii-U. I know when I see a proper Metroid game or the next Pikmin in HD, Nintendo can take my money.
One thing to think about for multiplats is that as for the PS3 compared to the 360 the games look the same. Even though the PS3 has slightly more advanced graphics, the developers don't put in the time to improve on the look of the game, they port it from the 360. That is why the exclusives took so much better for the PS3, like Uncharted 2.
> Surely they won't do this for the WiiU but it will be interesting to see how one game will compare to itself on the 3 consoles. And how the exclusives compare as well.
If most people can't see it, it must not that big of a difference. You just have eagle eyes. :P Hell, I was watching my friend play Vanquish the other day and he didn't seem to notice the constant framerate drops to 15.there is a big difference between gaming in 720p and 1080p and I hope someday everyone will be able to see it.

Like the Wii and 3DS right?
Because Nintendo decided to be the weakest of 3 for one generation, that means they're suddenly incapable of creating a strong console? :|
3DS is powerful enough for a handheld. It's GPU is roughly equivilant or better than the iPhone 4's. It's much strong than the DS and PSP.

The Wii was just once that Nintendo didn't go for More Power. Also the 3DS is right in line with what Nintendo has always done. If the Vita wasn't announced then the 3DS would be very impressive.
The Gameboy was a Portable NES, GBA was a Portable SNES, DS was a Portable N64, DSi was a little more powerful then an N64, and 3DS is a portable GCN roughly.
The make or break for Nintendo comes down to a few things: A) how will this new controller be accepted by the hardcore crowd (i.e. are the CoD gamers going to want to play with the tab over an x360 gamepad?), B) the response from MS and Sony in how they go about designing and releasing their next platforms (as in when and what capabilities will they have), and more than anything else, C) will third parties continue to struggle pushing their games against Nintendo's and will the incentive to make games for the Wii U still be there once the next PS and Xbox are out?
One other thing, still not sure how Nintendo is going to hold up competing with XBL and PSN. It's something Nintendo still needs to prove to developers and customers alike.
I don't see many owners of X360s and PS3s out there ready to jump ship, and with their successors' subsequent releases imminent, the fact that the Wii U is trying to come out first makes me think their won't be many who migrate from Sony/MS platforms to Nintendo's solely based on the hype machines both MS and Sony will generate. I would be surprised to see the Wii U do half as well in retail as the Wii.
