PS3 and Xbox 360 equals in the graphic department???

According to many bloggers online (you just have to look online) and jeuxvideo.fr (one of the biggest french video game website) RE5 is the prettiest game this generation (considered equaly as pretty on both consoles )... which would make both consoles for the first time on equal footings graphically... I am personnaly not convinced yet as I bought the game but haven't played yet, but what do you thinK? Better than gears 2 or killzone 2???

i dont really think you can compare KZ to RE5 or gears2 graphically, because KZ has a drastically different artstyle then both, and i disagree that RE5 looks better, it's just colorful

I agree with you, and I would add that they all have distinct artistic differences, played them all and love them all (except for re5 as mentioned above), i'm just bored at work and trying to kill some time...

Both have proved that they can dish out graphical powerhouse games, and for me, that's all I need. It doesn't matter which is better, as long as they can prove it.

If you were to put KZ2 and Gears 2 as equals... then there will be arguments for both sides. One thing that isn't debateable though is that Gears has slow down while KZ2 doesn't. If Xbox 360 stops chugging along on Gears 2 in crazy areas... then what does that bode for the future? RE5 doesn't have nearly as much action as those two games... so it isn't a fair comparison. Hopefully... someone thinks of a new engine for Xbox 360 as well... that would be awesome.

True in a way, but considering not much people wants to blow their wallets just to get an uber PC, I'd say a majority of people would phase out PC visuals because they'll never feel like seeing them.

Yea, I don't remember having any slowdowns in GeOW either. oh well.

Even though the 360 version of RE5 has a slight edge over the PS3 in texture detail and AA, the lack of 1:1 pixel-mapping on the 360 version looks horrible.

From what i've played of RE5, it wasn't the graphical powerhouse I was expecting. It by no means looks bad, just not up to expectations. I still think KZ2 looks better, but it's a real standoff

PS3 has better graphics. Heavy Rain looks VERY good, so does Uncharted, KZ2, and GoW3. Each of these games also promise to not have any loading times. Gears, from what I have seen, is the graphics king on the 360. GodofEmpires

Both are capable of the same graphics... We have only seen bullshots of GOW3 and Uncharted 2 (although both look awesome).

Exlusives PS3 > 360

Multiplats (most of the time) 360 > PS3

the only game that can be compared to KZ2 would be RE5, but both games have their own styles

Resident Evil 5 is a great looking game-- one of the best looking games currently available. But I think the PS3 has a slight edge. I haven't seen a game on the Xbox 360, or PS3 that has been able to match MGS4. I think Killzone 2 is a great looking game, but I think MGS4 is still the graphical king on both consoles.

I have yet to play Killzone2 but IMO Gears2 looks far better than Resident Evil 5
