[QUOTE="Javy03"][QUOTE="Miles0T0Prower"][QUOTE="Javy03"][QUOTE="Miles0T0Prower"] Ok its been a year now and people are using the PS3 for 5 things
Playing games
Dust collecting
Server use
Blu-ray movie
Reseacrh
and guess which one is the least used function
if you guess playing games ur right.
I know 3 people with ps3's and it collects dust or playes spiderman or 300 on blu-ray
most of the ps3's are used for blu-ray players anyway. I work at a mall and I dip into the sony store during my break to play the ps3 koisk because I dont have one at the moment so I see people go in and buy one just for blu-ray. man gets a 40gig and a few more blu-ray movies and dosnt even buy a game. I see this alot.
Almost atleast once a month you hear about researchers exploiting the cell to folding@home
IF you remeber the warhawk servers are ps3's and I put money that sonys gives ps3's to it games devs at a heavy discount or free to add them to the sales numbers
even on this forum you hear people talk about their ps3's collect dust.

The problem with your logic is that Blu ray movie attach rates are not reflective of roughly 5 million PS3 blu ray players. Not to mention their have been studies showing that most PS3 owners actually dont use it as a blu ray player. I know it might be fun to be a fanboy, but logic can be fun to.
Oh and stereotyping 6 million gamers based off of 3 PS3 owners you know is just plain dumb.
OK where did they do this study I watch people buy the thing at the store just for blu-ray. Yes people buy games but then how many of them acuatlly play the thing. Oh and here is the survey...
"According to the results, only 40% of PlayStation 3 owners polled were aware the machine had a Blu-ray player and about 50% of that number had popped in a Blu-ray movie during the last 10 times they turned on the machine -- the other half didn't use the feature. The study didn't poll about Xbox 360's HD-DVD add-on, as it's not a standard feature with the Xbox 360 SKU. For reference, about half polled knew about the DVD-playback potential of Xbox 360."

Take it with a grain of salt because of course its a survey but its a much more realistic conclusion then yours.
I'll take it with a grain of salt(salty) but Im going by what I seeLike I said, generalizing 6 million gamers by what you see in ONE mall and ONE store is pretty silly. Especially since most people dont buy games and consoles in the Sony store but in stores like Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop, Amazon.com, etc.
