Its very intresting and odd that the PS3 software attach rates are bad in the USA but in europe and japan the PS3 has solid attach rates.. I heard Ratchet and Clank,Motorstorm and Resistance sold really really well in the UK.. GT Prologue is selling very good in Japan along with that Dynasty warriors game.. I mean its a good thing that the PS3 is outselling the 360 in europe and japan along with better attach rates but why arent American PS3 owners buying games? Kind of strange ChristopherM80
Because were all about manly shooting games while everyone elses plays Mini Golf, Gran Turismo, and FIFA?

I honestly think it has to do with the 360 being successful IN AMERICA success. You see, America is the only area the 360 is doing incredibly well, and I many of those same buyers are hardcore gamers that probably also have a PS3. Then when a game comes out, they buy it on 360 instead of PS3 (Due to lazy ports.)
That's assuming the attach rate for PS3 is bad ONLY in America.
Right now, there are MANY, MANY PS2 users that just aren't upgrading, and those people will decide the war. Right now, 360 is leading by almost twice as many units.

There is no proof about Europe other then VG Charts and that site has been proven false so many time. Start trying to have some facts once in awhile instead of always making threads with nothing but fanboy rants.

What thread have I started today with just fanboy rants like the TC does 5 times a day? I just for the most part only post in other threads. I made one thread today and it was a video for a game I can not even play Crysis. If the attachment rate is so good lets see some proof then. GT: P only sold 50k in Japan and for that game it is not very good. Remeber how cows said over and over GT: P would sell like hot cakes in Japan.

Actually, PS3 have a lower attach rate in Japan than in NA. Also x360 only have about 1/3 of PS3's hardware sales LTD, but 2/3 of PS3's software sales LTD. Europe as a whole we know nothing about.
I keep wondering how long the people here in the US are going to keep supporting a company that keeps milking them at every turn, I'm talking about M$.jimm895
Maybe for as long as the optional "milkage" stuff stays optional and incredible games keep being released for the system.
I keep wondering how long the people here in the US are going to keep supporting a company that keeps milking them at every turn, I'm talking about M$.jimm895Sony was the originator of milking the customer. Last gen everything came with the xbox at the SAME price as the PS2. The PS2 required a multitap for 4 players, a network adapter to connect online, and a memory card to save games. This time, MS's "nickel and diming" merely brings you up to the price of the PS3. MS has an initial lower fee of entry, and most of the addons are for nongaming fuctions, while Sony simply charges you for everything at once. MS last gen offered more for the same price and Sony less for the same price butrequiring you to pay extra for GAMING features. MS this gen offers less for less with the option to spend money to add NONgaming features...Sony is offering more for more. Sony never has been the one offering more for the same price.
most ps2 owners are upgrading to 360's--- those ps2 owners are casual gamers-- the kid that doesnt know who peter moore is-- jade raymond is-- or who shigeru myamoto is--- they just care about the system that fits their budget-- and has decent games. those gamers dont look at teh future--- they look at now.Blue_Panda
but isn't it even better to play a game now and also know it will last for a long time? ex. halo 3
now + future > future

That's not completely accurate.
You had to buy the DVD playback kit to play DVD's on XBOX. You had to buy Xbox Live to play online last gen. For the price of going ONLINE for a year, you could buy the PS2 Network adapter and be set (Not to mention Sony eventually gave those away for free at some point, and ALL THIN MODELS also include that). One PS2 Advantage over ALL (N64, DC, Xbox, GC) is that the PS2 mulitap also allowed for 8 player games, like WWE games, Sports, etc/ something Xbox and GC didn't offer. You have some solid points, but you missed some factiods here.
who know's why? to be honest i can't even start to know why that is
and no, its not because Americans are gun crazed maniacs

So, do you have a link to a credible site that actually compiles sales data for Europe? BTW, please don't use VGcharts because we all know they are not based onactuall sales data, they are just guessing.

That's simply NOT TRUE. You see, there are around 20 million NEXT GEN gamers (360/PS3), not nearly scratching the surface of the 130 Million PLUS PS2 gamers. Most PS2 owners are still PS2 owners.
130 million+ ps2's sold doesn't equal 130 million+ ps2 owners. i would estimate the number around 60 - 75 million owners. which is still a ridiculous amount of consoles sold. the ps2 was such a beast.[QUOTE="ChristopherM80"]Its very intresting and odd that the PS3 software attach rates are bad in the USA but in europe and japan the PS3 has solid attach rates..
