If you ask anyone what the best feature of Rainbow Six: Vegas is on the 360, the answer will almost resoundingly be "the multiplayer". Then ask them what the key to multiplayer is, and anyone who is worth their salt knows its communication, it is so important to the point where generally speaking anyone without a mic is kicked automatically from the game. On the 360 this is fine, because almost everyone has a microphone, it comes with the premium and elite 360's and is available with the XBL gold package you can find in any electronics store.
Now for the PS3, this is a bit of an issue, there is no standard headset, which has lead to a general lack of any ingame chat because no one seems to own a headset. Now for the average FPS like resistance this isn't a problem, you can go around running and gunning and do a damn fine job. But for Vegas other than free-for-all games the PS3 version is crippled to the point where you just have to hope your team has a telepathic link or that by some act of god you manage to get all players with mics. Of course this presents another problem, suddenly most of your userbase is eliminated because as the 360 version proves, you absolutely need to be able to talk to your team. So because Sony couldn't have made a cheapie headset like MS did, they've already crippled their online service.
