ps3 backwards compatibility stinks

the ps2 games look like crap on  ps3

i popped in jak 2 today and the difference was easily noticeable the jaggies were far worse on ps3.

huh? sony already fixed the problem with the update....all my ps2 games works fine on the ps3..no problems here..

Still a problem as not everyone will go online with the system. So complaints toward this will always be there and continue unless they include firemware updates on game releases like they do with the PSP games. Do they?

PowerCharged


It upscales all games and dvds to 480p, and update 1.50 and 1.51 made the backwards compatability problems ALOT better.

Okami looks beautiful on PS3. Psi-Ops looks sharp as ever. Same with BLACK and DMC3. Have you updated your system?

anyone who owns jak 2 put it in a ps3 watch it then play it on ps2 there is still an obvious difference

Most of the PSP updates are just the cat and mouse games Sony is playing with the pirates. I don't blame them either.

It's 2007 people. Who is not going to go online with their console? You have got to be kidding me. All three of the current machines have free capabilities and If you're still on dial up it's really time to get with the program...

I feel sorry for those who still go with dial up. Truely sad. It's probably the 56k'ers that screw up the Gears of War games. Stupid host winners.

I bought a PS3 to play all my PS games. I still kept my old systems but its alot neater to have one system out than 3.

who the hell buys a PS3 and doesnt expect to firmware update it

People that are tired of PC gaming and just want a console for easy play without updates like it normally was with consoles? you know it is not all that want/have internet for their system.

thats why everyone says "Well Oblivion is gonna look great...AFTER THE UPDATE!!!!" i mean come on...everyone expects to have to update sumthing...this is the online gen.

It doesn't matter, since updates like that on the 360 load automatically with the 360 and it's games, and I am assuming the same for PS3 and Wii (you must have a connection).

That's funny because I recently ordered the Jak series online and received two games from the series today. I found Jak 3 at retail though. I tried them all with my PS3 on a 40" HDTV. They looked fine to me. Jak 2 and 3 support progressive so I kind of figured the first one might not, but it looked fine. It looked just like it does on the PS2.

All my PS1 and PS2 games look great on my PS3. No problems at all. Just make sure you have the latest update which i believe is 1.51.

I have a 27' SDTV right now. Next week I"ll have a 37' Widescreen LCD HDTV. I'm bloody excited but at the same time, if the games don't support widescreen...geez. I wish stores would sort of let you compare what DVD's look like from a SDTV to an HDTV. Same with games. But seriously, I"m pumped! And my PS3 will be replacing my PS2 with all the reports of the fixes of games. I've just never had a big tv like this before, nor widescreen. So all sorts of gaming is going to be new and refreshing to me.

He has Intenet,why the hell can't he update?My game are fine.(shysun PSN)
