Check out these sites on the construction quality of the PS3 and the X360. Notice how the PS3 LOOKS better built with a far superior cooling system than the X360. The PS3 is completely surrounded with metal (heat dissipation) and it has a MUCH larger heatsink with a much larger fan. The problem with both systems is that they have fans that push air all over the inside of the systems. Over the long term, I am guessing dust will build up everywhere. However, the PS3's computer board is COMPLETELY surrounded with metal and a super large heatsink, so even with lots of dust, the PS3 should be cooler than the X360.

Sony and Microsoft should have designed their consoles so that consumers could easily open them and clean out the dust, like in desktop computers. They should have also created the cooling system so that the airflow only blew on the heatsinks and metal, not into the computer board. This way, only the heatsinks and metal collect dust, while the computer stays mostly dust free. They should also use copper conduits to connect the computer board to the heatsinks and surrounding metal to facilitate heat dissipation.
Anyhow, for the long run, PS3 looks like the better built system.
As for games, I don't like either the PS3 games and X360 games that are currently available. I do look forward to Call of Duty 4 and Resident Evil 5. I know this is highly improbable, but I would love to see Megaman for the PS3, but in the form of a 3-D platform shooter, like the Ratchet and Clank coming out for the PS3. Then add a multi-player feature with Megaman converting to different bosses to use different abilities and weapons.
