Yes it does, especially if it was anticipated for months. I expect PS3 to sell as strong up to the holiday season judging by quality of games being released in the next few months.

Again the 360 had a price drop also and it's barely mangaing to sell look at the sales for the 360:

141,103 sold this week for the 360-

The PS3 sold:

252,090 this week

Not to mention the fact the 360 has another SKU for $200 and still can't manage to outsell the PS3 $300 pricetag...

Anyway, while i significantly prefer PS and pretty much all of its games, we probably shouldnt be bragging until we've outsold xbox for 2 years straight...pretty much what they have done.

also all this proves is that the ps3 has outsold the 360 for one month, and there's no evidence that the lead has canceled out the 360 outselling the ps3 for the rest of the year rior

So the Wii has better sales and the PC has more critically acclaimed games yet its the year of the PS3? Explain this logic. Beating the 360 doesn't mean its the year of the PS3.

No it wasn't just lemmings. In fact, lemmings couldn't talk in a sales topic because the wii is beating them both. I'm a manticore and I used sales but only got flammed. Now, when the Ps3 is winning (for one month may I remind you) everyone in SW can now use sales. :evil:

It is? yet its sales are going down each week last checked...

I care about quality not quantity, if they were the same than Wii Play would be the greatest game ever and Grim Fandango would not be a great game only about 5 people have ever played.

Of course I might just be saying this since things only matter if I'm one of those people that buys it, and I have a PS3 so I don't care.

Sales encouraged by a price cut that still has Sony taking losses on every unit sold, exclusives that are developed/published by Sony themselves.

Is there anything about PS3's rise in popularity that is genuinely based on its own merits? Every aspect of it seems to have been manufactured in some way. It is easy to make something popular if you drown it in money; and don't actually intend to make as much profit from it as you would a generally successful console.

If PS3 escapes 3rd place it will be because Sony has deep pockets, not because it became popular on its own or because it attracted developers by itself.

The PS3 also outsold the 360 the month it first dropped it's price from $599. Look how that turned out in the long run.
