I've never bought a 360 for anyone else.
But someone did give me a PS3...
Nice name btw, TC. I like it.
I bought the 360 for myself.
End thread.

Be careful on that end thread stuff... Its become a moderable offense...
I've never gifted a console to anyone. Closest thing to this for me would be gifting someone with a moderate computer a video card so they could enjoy some games.
none of my friends worried about the £35 XBL would cost as we're all over 14 and have full time jobs

but it is a very clever and funny name. he has taken the word 'microsoft' and the word 'greedy' and pushed them together to make another word 'mircogreedy'I am not saying there aren't gamers who bought the 360 for themselves. I am saying, if there is a study done, the researchers will see a higher percentage of self-bought PS3 owners. It makes sense when you compare sales of PS3 vs. 360 during the Christmas season and during the other times. The Wii out sold the 360 during December. I am sure most gamers would rather have the 360 than the Wii. Similarly, the 360 outsold the PS3 during December, but I think most gamers would rather have the PS3 than the 360.microgreedyBut seeing as you can't do this study, you'll have to take a sample from this thread - which proves your theory to be incorrect.

lmao. If there is a study done. You are going to do great things in SW.

No, you're making poor assumptions. Don't make a statement then back it up with a hypothetical study, and assumptions that people want PS3's over 360s.
What type of console you want for yourself? Most awesome features. Low maintenance. Best graphics. Best sounds. Higher end multimedia experiences. More variety of games (MMOs, Play-Create-Share, etc.). Best overall gaming experiences. All of these are PS3's advantages, in my opinion. PS3 has best gaming experiences because the PS3 gets all the best multiplats and the best exclusives. I think there is no longer any doubt that when it comes to excluisve games, the PS3 has the 360 beat. Multiplats are pretty much equal overall, though the 360 has a slight edge. What type of console you want to buy as a gift for others? Initial cheaper price. A viable and good console. I think price is the most important factor during the Christmas season, when people buy gifts for others. That's why the Wii outsold the 360 and the PS3 in December. When you buy a 360 as a gift, you let your recipients worry about paying $60 just to play online and about the 360's lack of exclusives. So, the PS3 is the console gamers want for themselves while the 360 is the console you hope gamers want for a gift. microgreedy
this might be the dumbest thing ive ever heard before. So basically heres another excuse as to why the ps3 came in last during xmas???

I can imagine this as an excuse at the end of the gen.... "360 was the ultimate gift king"I bought the 360 and PS3 for myself, my lady bought the Wii, but I do buy games that's fun for me and others in my home. I did give my brother and sister money to get a PS3, so I could have someone to play with since we play together all the time on the 360.

Well, that's the smartest thing said in this thread. Well, except what I said. And your proof behind this is...? Look at the sales number during the Christmas season. On a worldwide basis, the 360 tend to outsell the PS3 during Nov and Dec. Other months, the PS3 generally has the 360 beat in sales.[QUOTE="microgreedy"]I am not saying there aren't gamers who bought the 360 for themselves. To those who don't like me already: The Wii outsold the 360 during Christmas. However, what would you want to buy for yourself? 360 right? Right. Same thing with PS3 vs 360. The 360 outsold the PS3 during Christmas. However, what do you think most gamers would rather buy for themselves? Deep down inside, you know the answer is the PS3. The 360 is the console you buy as a gift. The PS3 is the console you want to receive as a gift.microgreedy
I have a Wii and not a 360, again, point moot.

In other words, show us a real study microgreedy, not just a concept of a study that shows the results you want to see :)
You may have had a point if you said that people buy 360's to play with friends because more people own it
But you didn't.....and ultimately failed
"360 was the ultimate gift king"RavensmashBecause: you save money. you don't have to worry about paying $60 every year just to play online. you don't have to worry about expensive hard drives you don't have to worry about buying a Blu-ray player you don't have to worry about lack of exclusives. you don't have to envy PS3 owners for having the best graphics, sounds, variety, etc. So, yeah, the 360 is the ultimate gift for others, not for yourself.

The point is moot to you, but not to others who receive the 360 as a gift. Where's Pachter? Maybe he can give us the numbers of consoles sold as gifts. That ought to make 360 fanboys feel uncomfortable. All that means is less people are going to ask for a PS3 for their birthday because theyre ashamed.
"So Tommy do you like your PS3?"
*Friends and family gasp in shock*
"I HATE YOU MOM, I WANTED AN XBOX, ALL MY FRIENDS LAUGH AT PS3 OWNERS!!!"
