played ps3 for the first time yesterday on a 1080p display. When i picked up the controller it felt cheap, tooo light and the triggers felt shocking. They dont bounce back quick enough and feel awkward when using them repeatedly

anybody else share this opinion?

Feels cheap? I agree. Too light? I liked it that way. Triggers? I'll admit I didn't like them at first but I've grown to like them even more than those on the Xbox360 controller now.

XBOX 360 controller=best for FPS

PS3 controller=best for everything else.

Hm...when rumble gets implemented back into the PS3 controllers, it won't feel cheap or light.

The only problem I have are the L2, R2. My fighting games require percise timing, and those trigger buttons are killing it. Good thing I have a Hori Stick.

The only reason it feels cheap and light is because there is no rumble in it. But once Immersion puts it's new type of rumble technology into the PS3 controller, it should feel just as good as the Dualshock controller. And I don't know about the R2/L2 buttons... I love the way the R2/L2 buttons are now, the triggers are great :|

It's Dual Shock, tried and true, same pros and cons since PS1.

I agree here. The setup on the Xbox360 is SO much better for FPS. I feel like my thumbs are searing after playing Resistance. That being said, I do like the setup for everything else more on the PS3 controller. Cannot wait for rumble to be reintegrated.

what is the dual shock best at? examples? I mean, I love using a controller that feels like it could break anytime and all. But I don't think it necessarily breaks any new grounds.

I think it's clear from all your bashing posts that you are just a desperate, jealous fanboy. Think of it this way: if the controller design wasn't so universally loved by Sony supporters, would they keep it for 3 generations? Clearly, it's good for many, many genres. I'm mature enough to admit that other consoles have the advantage in some genres. But your desperate fanboyism makes me giggle inside like a drunken monkey.

Pretty much what I feel. The triggers are rubbish. Quite why they didn't think to have them shaped like triggers, I don't know.

Part of the light feel is the lack of a cable coming out the top. You get used to it after a while, but it doesn't feel quie right. Hopefully a wobble pad will resolve that.

Remember the boomerang? People complained and look what we got? Another dualshock-styled controller. That's what happens when they try to please use rather than force you.

Thats because the boomerang was ridiculous.

Actual triggers would hardly have caused the end of the world. It's become pretty standard now.

I disliked the boomerang design. I find this much more familiar and comfortable.

IMO PS3 controller without the L2/R2 But for driving and shooting games... definitely the 360 controller.

Nope, I don't agree. I think the PS3 controller is well made (Dropped it myself on a hard floor. Not to mention my neice throwing one across the room) and I like how light it feels.

I have pretty big hands...and it just seems really uncomfortable. It doesn't cater for big hands. the 360 controller feels much better. The original xbox was just plain unconfortable. Big or small.
