Hi,i have been playing ps3 at my friends place and we played sveral games like SF4,tekken and few more i just felt that the ps3 controller is smoother ..I mean the 6 axis is smoother..but disliked the height of it,and the buttons felt real smoother than the 360.. but i have real huge hands so it was pretty smaller.. but smoother..I wish 360 had those buttons ..+ the gameplay was much smoother ..wtf man ?

I was expecting this to be about the texture of the plastic.

Yes, the DS3 has better buttons, or the stuff underneath the buttons is better. Whatever the case, the 10-bit, pressure sensitive buttons are better than the 8-bit, on or off buttons on the 360 pad.

Sticks are better as well.

Size wise, they are about the same really.

I hate the PS3 controller personally, the stick placement is the worst possible for my hands anyway and the triggers are as akward to use as it gets

360 one is the best i have used

Also the feeling/feedback from PS3 sticks is terrible as well

360's d-pad is horrible other then that 360 controller is pretty much the best available imo.

I don't think one is smoother than the other. I own both a Ps3 and X360 and I manage fine with both controllers, can't really fault either, although I think it's easier to hit the right buttons the D-pad on the PS3 controller.

Well, the face buttons on the ps3 controller are analog, that's probably why they feel smoother.

the dreamcast controller was crap IMO however MS took a crappy concept and somehow turned it into the most used controller design this gen, the D-pad is still crappy but otherwise its the best around, but the DS isnt too bad either, it can just sometimes feel a bit plasticky and i find it to be a little small for my liking but all in all a good controller

No. The main flaw with the PS3 controller is that the LT and RT buttons are slanted. My fingers keep slipping off them. I can't play a shooter like that. Also, the PS3 controller is light and hollow. The 360 controller however is heavier and bulker, a much nicer fit on my hands.

There's a reason most 3rd party controller designs copy the 360 layout and not the ps3's.

I have been gaming since the N64, played on the N64, PSX, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 and PC, and it by far it is my least favourite controller. I could/can never play for more than an hour before my hands start to hurt, and they are never comfortable while playing. The buttons do feel nicer, and has a better D-Pad (although going diagonal is a pain in the a**) than the 360.

I don't know why people complain about the DS3. I've never had problems with my thumbs hitting eachother :D

But yeah I've always prefered the DS, the only thing I like better about 360 is the trigger shape and the feel of the controller.

But functionally I much prefer the DS3.

I don't like them either , but aim and shoot are usually on L1 and R1 where they are supposed to be. It's natural placement and feels good using trigger fingers on those buttons. An the dualshock 3 is not light and hollow , maybe you mean the sixaxis ?

No it's not, apart from Microsoft(which is not a third party), all the other brands follow the Dual Shock design. :)

Then there's also the Wii C|assic Pro controller.

infairness though half of those controllers dont even remotely look like the dualshock apart from the two analog sticks being side by side with a bulky body akin to that of the xbox, some of them anyways but some of them looks like bananas (?)

False. Go to gamestops website and you'll see a ton of ps3 controllers using the 360 controller template.

And that wii controller? C'mon now, that thing is terrible.

Lol this is sad for people who like 360 controller better only because of the triggers. Your fingers keep slipping off the triggers!??! Then guess what, WASH YOUR HANDS. I have never experienced any problems like this with the triggers. I never had a problem slipping off the triggers and/or accidentally trigger the triggers. For real, stay clean for maximum experience. I'm really a clean person, I wash my hands like several times a day. You'll love the DS more if you don't have these problems, trust me. On 360 controller, you have to press buttons so damn hard compared to DS, especially the stick buttons. Stick placements? Well, I guess this is personal preference. I personally like the stick placements on DS3 better. But to be honest with you who gives a damn about where these are placed? Feels almost the same, it's not like any degrading experience for neither of them placements. This is why I don't have a problem with Demon's Souls.

Not for all types of games. 360's controller is probably better shaped(haven't touched an xbox controller since probably '04...), but I'd say the ps3 controller is better built, as well as all of them being equals, able to connect them all to a pc and having rechargeable batteries rather than a stupid battery pack is quite nice.

The most played games on consoles are Shooters by a very large margin, doesnt it seem silly to use inferior controls on the most popular type of game? I was half joking originally, sorry sarcasm doesnt translate well through text. But this second point isnt a joke.

While your post seems to be entirely tongue in cheek, you're not wrong about the Duke being the best controller ever, i still have 1 boxed (sealed) because i love the controller that much. Fit perfectly into my hands, and had the best dual analogs on a controller ever.

The ps3 controller feels cheaper and that it would break easier(1 has already broke on me) but the 360 one feels a lot more durable.

I do have a PS3 a 360 and a High end PC One could ever dream of, AMD phenom 965 @3.4 ghz , Ati HD 5870 X2 Cross fire ,8 gb transcend Ram @ 1333 mhz and 1TB hdd and 1 tb external, with 900 watt psu .. so what .. the games are fewer compared to the consoles.. its not a ferrari.. You buy a ferrari the perfomance and the speed remains the same for the road ur gonna drive.. but a PC WILL ASK FOR MORE WITH NEW GAMES >> how can one compare a car to a PC.. both are freakin different.

360 has better sticks and triggers. PS3 has better D-pad and buttons.

PatchMaster

Yea .. this makes sense.

The DS3 SUCKS!!!!!! Since that is out of the way, I don't mind that controller, I just take issue with the sticks (too loose), and the triggers (not really triggers, just spongy buttons to me). The 360's D-Pad does suck though, but it is the best controller I've ever used.

I enjoy the 360 controller more..Stick placement is my gripe with the DS3..cramped my hands...

I picked up a Pro Elite wireless for the PS3 and never looked back

[QUOTE="Pug-Nasty"]

Disagree completely. 360 is better everywhere but D pad, imo.

The 360 has the better controller... No question. That's something I hope Sony fixes for PS4.

The dual analog sticks are to high for my tastes and a bit too sensitive for my big hands. also dislike how the thumb part is outwards instead of inward, my thumbs slip off sometimes. whatever you get used to it. the buttons are better, but the triggers are terrible imo

[QUOTE="0Hamburgher"]It seems that people who prefer the 360 controller either loved the dreamcast stick placement too much or just started gaming this genHailedJohnDman

the dreamcast controller was crap IMO however MS took a crappy concept and somehow turned it into the most used controller design this gen, the D-pad is still crappy but otherwise its the best around, but the DS isnt too bad either, it can just sometimes feel a bit plasticky and i find it to be a little small for my liking but all in all a good controller

gamecube controller dude
