PS3 Crysis Demo is an old build.

According to Cry-Tom on the mycrysis forums the ps3 demo is an old build. Perhaps its not all doom and gloom for the ps3 after all, but we will not know for sure untill next week. What say you system wars?

I really dont care which one is better, I want both versions to be as best as they can be. just relaying new info.

Whether or not it's true, why would you release an old build as a demo when trying to help market the game?

Yea, right. They are only pulling it to ensure no one else sees how bad the PS3 version looks, hoping people will rush out and buy it off the name alone, much like Black Ops. EA should learn from Activision; never release a demo of a game if the game is really bad looking with lots of issues.

Customers should take heed, don't fall for the antics of shady, money hungry devs.

I found for a multiplayer demo that the visuals looked good. Multiplayer visuals are not supposed to be insanely detailed anyway

I understand this is just SW running its course, but if visuals and performance matter so much you should just get a decent PC instead of fighting over scraps.

Actually they confrimed it is the latest version, the one just before they gave the game for copies

I know fanboys like to harp on about minuscule differences between the 360 and PS3 versions of multiplatform games but in this specific case all those complaints are perfectly justified. The Crysis 2 multiplayer demo for PS3 looks AWFUL, the framerate dipped when there were multiple characters on screen, the image on screen is pixelated and blurry, making it very annoying to try to pull off headshots or even hit a moving target (1080p LCD television with HDMI output). The matchmaking was slow and a tad clunky compared to Call of Duty, Halo and Uncharted 2. This is unacceptable for a game that will be released next week to have these problems and EA/Crytek are asking PS3 players to pay an equal price even though the game isn't even remotely close to the visuals on the PC.

Please! If you've read my posts you know I am a great supporter of the PS3 and its games, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME TILL THEY PUT A DEMO BACK UP ON PSN. The reason why they took it down was because of the negative reaction people had of the multiplayer demo, bad word of mouth would only hurt first week sales of the game and EA will not allow that so rather than suffer through 4 more days of critical backlash they'd rather take the demo down and expect people to purchase the game without any knowledge of how it runs.

Did they take out some of the blur in the 2nd demo? I tried playing it when the first demo came out, but it made me sick. I haven't tried any other demos though (for 360 or PS3). I might give it another shot if they did fix the blur though.

Gameplay is horrible anyways... IMO.

its quite possible they are just lying. Though I believe there is more at stake than just crysis 2, they are trying to sell the cryengine 3 as a multi plat engine as well. Plus they "challanged" us to find a difference between the versions. Brave words considering the lackluster ps3 demo.

I enjoy CoD because is addicting. If Crysis 2 is a Cod rip off or not doesn't matter. The MP is good. The map designs are just great. And the graphics blossom beautifully. I'll definetly agree it give KZ3 a run for its money.

And speaking of KZ3, Crysis 2 (gameplay wise) plays a lot like it. It has floaty controls but not on the same magnitude as KZ3.

But yes. The framerate is ridiculously bad, especially when players call in that Alien spaceship on the map. Furthermore Is horifying seeing how bad the lag is. There's so much of it.

If they can fix the lag and framerate before release, they have a 1st day buyer right here.

Demos take time and resources to put together. It's not like they can just cut a section out of the finished code and it's a demo. Time spent on polishing a demo is less time spent on polishing the final game. That's why there's always the little disclaimer saying that the demo is not representative of the final build.

This is one of the reason that these comparisons of demos make very little sense, especially considering the fact that demos don't usually release very long before the game releases.

And the blurred visuals didn't even slightly put you off buying it? Having played COD Black Ops and Killzone 3 I could at least make out what I was shooting at...

Crysis 3 needs to be lead on the PS3 if this is what they consider acceptable. And I'm sure their experience with the 360's architecture with "Codename Kingdoms" has something to do with it looking slightly better on 360. After "Dead Space 2" PS3 owners should expect better from EA, that game, for me, sets the standard of how a multiplatform game should look on 360, PS3 (no install) and PC.
