PS3 cynics. What E3 announcements would make you reassess the PS3 ?

Siince we're all gamers and the PS2 was universally acknowledged as being awesome, I'm assuming that alot of people would be willing to give the PS3 a chance supposing that Sony had a good enough showing at E3. That said, what combination of announcements would cause YOU personally to reconsider the PS3? Here's my list

• At least a 100 dollar price cut
• Rumble controller included as standard
• Killzone looks as good as the trailer
• Some more sony first/second party stuff that doesn't suck
• BIG third party announcements (new epic game, kojima game, bioware game etc)
• Moneyhatting some DECENT exclusives (like heavy rain for example)

I think to make a serious difference, they'll need at least a $200 price drop.

I'm interested in seeing how low the price has to go before it begins to sell at a faster pace than the 360. Will it have to meet the 360's price? Beat it? Or are consumers less price sensitive than I think they are? Is the PS3 still seen as the more desirable product to the general public?

If Sony can pull this off it'll be the biggest turnaround since Nintendo pwned the PSP with the DS

Maybe stop lying, $200 price cut (most likely M$ will drop prices if that happens) and more shooters, and racing games. Also, add RTS like C&C3, then I will consider it.

Well, I've got a PS3, but what would make me like it? A rumble controller, in-game XMB (including messaging and notifications), Killzone looking the same as or better than the trailer ("close" is not good enough), GT5 matching Forza feature-for-feature (including damage), and some new games that I can't get on 360 (FPS and racing sims please; I don't care about JRPGs).lowe0

I disagree with your last statement. I like FPS and racing sims but I'd rather a few good ones within PS3's lifespan rather than have it plagued with mediocre ones. Variety is good and it can make or break a console for me. I would've never bought a PS2 last gen if Xbox had the variety of games PS2 had.

Killzone will have some similarities than the trailer did. I also think it's possible that Killzone will be the next standard for graphical achievements on consoles, but it will not look better than the trailer.

1.) Controller doesn't suck, Its tiny and uncomfortable.
2.) Games aren't all JRPGs/ Japanese inspired games.
3.)Decent RPG game
4.) Decent shooter
5.) Decent RTS game
6.) MMO prospects (Check) - The Agency
7.) No motion sensing crap
8.) More info on Afrika (Working title)

looks aint everything. Killzone could look like the most amazing thing ever but if it plays like crap it's all for naught. If the Killzone can pull off the dynamic visceral battles from the trailer while still being incredibly fun then it'll pique anyone's interest

QFTMFT. The original Xbox was basically a haven for shooters and not much else. That's why it fared so terribly and was looked down upon by so many gamers. Variety is the spice of life. See Okami, Ico, SOTC, MGS3, DQ9, FF12, Ratchet and Clank et al

price drop doesn't matter to me - i own one. still hate it though.

i guess some decent game announcements would help -- but anything we haven't heard about already won't likely see day until mid-end of 2008.

I hope you realize that your comment is laced with ignorance. $600 is a lot of money when you must pay for bills, buy groceries, tuition, a mortgage, save for retirement, support your family, etc. Also, I doubt that all of the people holding off from buying it due to price are Americans. It's fairing pretty poorly in most countries, which means most cultures are cheap or it's overpriced.

For me to actually consider buying a PS3:

• $500CAD price cut.
• Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted are described as as goodbetter than Halo, Ninja Gaiden and Tomb Raider respectively.
• Unified multiplayer.
• Free headset with console, all current PS3 owners will be shipped headset free of charge.
• Strong showing at E3.
