PS3 Center reports: It seems that according to rumors Capcom and SEGA are going to hold off on releasing and developing certain PS3 games as they want to wait and see how the market is after Halo 3 releases on the Xbox 360. This could be a possible sign that Capcom and SEGA want to see what kind of impact Halo 3 has on the video game market and how many sales of Xbox 360 units it garners. The news came at TGS when both companies stated that many PS3 games they had in development are now on hold. It is not a good sign that major developers such as SEGA and Capcom are basing releases on how well Halo 3 does...at least not good for PS3 fans.
Its understandable. But they should wait until after the Winter. The Wii will release Galaxy and Brawl. If Halo3 gets the 360 back on track, Galaxy and Brawl may reconquer.
I can care less about Sega but doesn't Capcom only have two games in developedment for the PS3? RE5 which doesn't come untill 09 and DMC4 which comes out at mid 08. They come way after Halo release also both of Capcom's titles are multi-plat.

But yea it is understandable if they did have any September releases they would be overshadowed by Halo 3.
Smart for the developers to wait (although Capcom, give me DMC4 you punks! The gamei looking hot!) but it's a kick in the pjood to Sony if they don't have the good games for the holidays. Eh. Oh well. I suppose owning a PS3 and 360 has its draws and drawbacks.

Not all projects are public knowledge. Actually, don't almost all projects go through a good bit of development time before they're announced, just in case they hit issues early on?
yes but will anybody actually buy the games... MP3 got slaughtered by Bioshock... and Bioshock is not Halo3. Wii owners buy less games = proven. I will still buy SMG because it will be a great game, but the actually gamer install base for the Wii is much lower then the sales figures indicate.

Umm every dev should wait to release their games after Halo 3. Especially on the Xbox 360. It is just smart. Who is going to be playing anything but Halo 3 for the month after its release?

The attachment rate of Wii + MP3 > 360 + BioShock.
the strange thing is it doesn't mention holding off on 360 games. I think if the ps3 doesn't show some improvement soon developers are going to jump ship.
