PS3: Do Want

Serious question: where else can you get blu ray and the Cell processor, in one package? That is designed to be a serious contender for 10 whole years? Where firmware updates and dev tools like EDGE keep the console on the tip of the spear, graphics wise? That has wifi and internet broswer, built in? That has the most innovative games on the planet, like LBP and FF13 Versus?

I have one answer for you- it's the PS3. PS3: DO WANT.

Its ok, I own one myself, but I dont have many games for it, just MGS4, and Sigma, Im considering getting Disgaea 3, and some PSN games, Im still not sure about LBP though.

LittleBigPlanet IS innovative. We don't know much about FXIII VS, but from what we know, it's not innovative at all.

The game itself is innovative. It's a brand new and innovative IP. There has never been a LBP game before. It's not like Mario where it has to take on new gameplay mechanics like walking upsidedown and everywhere imaginable to be called innovation.

Not saying LBP doesn't have mechanics. LBP let's you take any level imaginable in the game and change them to your likings. You can also create stages from scratch and have endless possibilities with them. You can share them with friends and play with others. Amazing graphics that can be some of the best graphics this generation thus far - and that says A LOT for a side-scroller. The game just takes full use of the PSN and Blu-Ray capabilities.

But I would like to say, who really gives a crap about whether a game is innovative or not?
Half (If not, more) the games coming out this year show things that have all been done in the past.
Innovation doesn't drive a game to success: the appeal and whether it's good or not does.

I don't look at LBP and love it because it is innovative (I hadn't even thought of it until reading this thread really), I love LittleBigPlanet because it looks like a FUN game, and it has ton of APPEAL according to my tastes. I don't give a crap of who dun' what first, I just want to play the game that is fun.

Jeez, you people need to look at games from a different perspective. Just because I can swing the remote to swing the bat on the TV doesn't make it the greatest thing ever because it has never been done before.

and yes I like my ps3. I bought it for the exclusives (Resistance, MGS, R&C, Uncharted etc.) and have loads of fun with it.

But my 360 gets more playtime tbh. biggest reason is because all my friends have a 360

Innovation doesn't mean that "it's never been done before ever," it means its something fresh and that it brings something new to the table. While it might not be new to a lot of PC games, its sure as hell innovative for a console platformer.

How can this be anyone's favorite game when they haven't even played it yet? How can anyone be a LBP fanboy when they haven't played it?

LBP looks promising, and it is indeed an innovative title. It is something FRESH. It has a NEW experience.

It's not yet another Mario, or another Halo, or another Ratchet & Clank. It's something NEW.

You can create your own experience and have it go online. There is going to be an online experience where you can download other levels from other people.

Besides, I can handle negative critisism as long as its constructive.

If you just say "LOL how is a map editor innovative?" one could definently argue that you haven't looked up more on the game. Theres also a platforming element to it. You don't even have to create any levels if you don't want to.

Besides I could argue your "negative opinion" comment by saying that you could be jealous that this isn't coming to your console, because I could almost guarentee that if it was on the Xbox360, you would be anticipating this game.
