Hey, buddy.  AAA is AAA.  PD0 is a fantastic game.  Don't try to discount a positive review for the 360 out of pure jealousy and spite...makes you look...jealous and spiteful.

I might remind you that we had Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, which also received AAA by this time.  Don't try to cover it up...the situation with the PS3's lack of games is nothing short of dire and absolutely ridiculous.

The 360 had several games rated higher than the PS3's highest rated game by now during this point last year. Hell, at launch the 360 had something like four games rated higher than the PS3's current highest rated game.

The PS3 has set the record on this site for the longest a system has ever gone post launch without a AAA title. The 360 also had GRAW and Oblivion released in March of last year.... and the PS3's first AAA game looks like it'll be a year old port of one of those games (Oblivion.) Not that I care about that at all, but it's clear the PS3 launch has been disapointing from a software standpoint, even more so than the 360's.

I would hardly call that "Universal acclaim."

PS3 has been out for 3.5 months and has doubled 360's sales of over a year in Japan.

PS3 is selling much better than 360 was this time last year and PS3 hasn't even launched in Europe, Australia, or Middle East yet.

Motorstorm has gotten universal acclaim so far and releases tommorow.

The week following, Oblivion launches for PS3, with slightly (and I mean slightly) more content than the 360 version, spreading 360's second best game across three systems (PC, PS3, 360)

Nope. I actually didn't own a 360 at this point last year. I didn't think there were enough good games to warrant a purchase. Be that as it may, the PS3 is is even worse shape now (from a software standpoint) than the 360 was at this point last year in its lifecycle. Recognizing that the PS3's game library does not merit spending 600 bucks on the system doesn't make one a fanboy, is makes one sensible. Will the PS3 eventually have a great library? yes, of course. Does it now? No, it doesn't. Has its launch been a disapointment? Yep, yes it has.

if im not mistaken ur only note worthy game is gears and it took a year after 360 launched to come out. and yes resistance is ridiculously fun and frantic (note day one release)....u fail + bluray is sick!

Yeah because whatever Gamespot says is exactly what it is. I look at the average score from all sites, not just one site that decided to even give Zelda a 8.8. Yet, you think PS3 fails overall because no "AAA" score from Gamespot. Sad.bkslayer

I agree. Some people take Gamespot's word as the ultimate truth, when the only thing one can do is play the games for themselves, like I have. Having played both Gears and Resistance many, many times, I can say Resistance is easily on the level of Gears in terms of action and quality.

So you're arguing the score?

Ok then Here MGS 3 got a 8.7 score...but I argue MGS 3 > 90% of the console games released all last gen (and I bet I can get a ton of people on this fourm to agree with me) 

And I played Motorstorm and in my opinion it's a 9.0 game.  And judging from the mounds of people who are ever excited to play it,  I'd say it's the same for them too.   So what if this game gets a bad score here...this game will sell systems and people will say it owns.  People will show it off to their friends and they will be impressed.  Nothing GS can do in their stupid reviews will stop this gaame from being a success and I ecco this for every other good PS3 game that has or will get a bad score here at Gamespot.

Your point is essentually nothing because in real life scores are only worth as much as one man is willing to give them credit.  And if someone gives the score no credit or less if they don't even know the score, how much weight does that phony centement of game score really hold to everyone else? 

Point?  GF loves Blinks the Time Sweeper.  She said she would have liked to have an xbox just to play that game and here girlfriends who played the game with her think the same.  She never read the reviews of GS but they game it like a 4.9 or something.  But in here eyes it was AAA...I guess Gamespot flopped.  and so did your thread.

GAMESPOT DOES NOT = THE OPINIONS OF EVERY GAMER IN THE WORLD....in fact it might be the total opposite.

Anyone who believes a review site's opinion holds more value than his own (on a personal level, not for the sake of an argument on System Wars) is a nut. If you love a certain food and a famous food critic tells you it's disgusting are you suddenly going to stop enjoying its taste?

These review sites are product purchase advice distributors.... most useful for people who have not played a given game and are looking for sound advice on whether or not to purchase, rent, or skip it. If a review site gives a game that you have already played and absolutely love a 5.8 does that mean you'll say to yourself "Well, damn, these people said I shouldn't love this game so I guess I won't"? No, that's stupidity. The reason I read GameSpot is because I find a number of the reviewers here to have tastes in games that are very similar to my own (more so than any other review site,) for this reason their reviews are useful when deciding what games to play next. Do I always agree with them after playing those games? No, obviously not. This doesn't stop the site from being what it's intended to be, a useful guide.

That being said, in this particular forum review scores are used for useless pissing matches between fanboys that have already played or have already decided not to play given games regardless of their review scores - that completely destroys the primary purpose of game reviews. After I've played a game my opinion is greater than his opinion, her opinion, and your opinion; however, depending on how close my tastes are to those people their opinions might be useful before I've played said game.
