For all the doubters and annoying fanboys posting things like "OH EMM GEE TEH PS3 GRAFIXS ARE BADZORZ" and the likes need to take a history lesson. Here are some screens of early titles on the PS2:

Dynasty Warriors 2

Twisted Metal Black

NBA Street

And now look at the graphics of some of the newer titles.

God of War II

NBA Street Vol 3

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater

Yes, the 360's graphics will improve as well. However, anyone saying "teh cell is suckzorz even though I know nothing of game programming," please refrain. You're lost. The PS3 will produce graphics on par and surpass that of the 360 with different titles and vice versa during this console war. That means great games will come out on both fronts. Competition is a good thing.

Yes they have. I've seen several topics by fanboys on this website saying "PS3 graphics will NEVER catch up to teh 360's! OMG GEARS, GEARS GEARS."

Wow, it only took the PS2 5 years to get some decent graphics that were destroyed by PC games anyways. What a waste of money.

not really when you consider how early in the 360's lifespan gears came out..

it's already pushing graphics that would melt the ps3...

and it's not even warmed up yet..;)

That's what I was thinking. You would have to be crazy to think they wouldn't improve. Now, it will be interesting to see how similar the graphics between the two consoles will be because there are some AMAZING looking games coming out for 360 and there already is one that looks insanely good (Gears, duh). I hope both systems keep pushing each other and we get the best graphics the systems can provide!

The PS3 is more like the PS2,and the 360 is more like the original Xbox.PS2 had a very very good cpu for its time,but the gpu just wasnt good enough to output what the cpu demanded,the system was very unbalanced...just like the PS3,amazing cpu but devolopers cant make the gpu output everything the cpu requries.If the gpu was on par with the cpu then the PS2 could have graphics better than the Xbox.The original xbox was perfectly balanced,everything works in harmony so developers could get the most out of the system,just like the Xbox 360 is made...if anyone knows enough about the two consoles hardware I think most of you would agree with me:).

If anyone has been saying the the graphics won't improve greatly on any console during the next few years then they are definitely a fanboy. I'm sure the PS3 graphics will get better, as will the X360 and Wii graphics. Now I guess by how much each will improve is a point worth arguing, but its also pretty much impossible to know, so I won't even bother.

Like I was saying Wii's graphics won't improve by much.... Your Killer app first party games for the most part look like high end Xbox games and aren't far away from their last gen counterparts in graphical capabilities. If you Killer app games don't look that good what makes you think your third party or any other small title games will? I'll still play Super Smash Brawl but for this gen its graphics suck.
