Gamespot reviews are trash. Ratchet and Clank 7.5, Metroid 3 8.5, Mass Effect 8.5, God of War CoO 8.5, Uncharted 8.0. You should be embarrased for even bringing up Gamespot reviews.

That's because you have trash sites like Gamespot dragging the scores down. If you're aiming for 90, one 7.5 hurts more than 3 or 4 95's.

I totally agree with this post. However, people will say that Gamespot reviews are the only ones that count on here. It's alright if they think that way, but they should know that larger sites likes IGN, Neogaf forums, 1up, Gametrailer forums, etc... do not follow Gamespot reviews anymore since they've started underscoring games-- particularly well deserved AAA games. However, they are still AAA games after all.

Those titles are weak, but under the current rules, only GS scores count. So there is no PS3 AAAE game here on GS. However, this does not mean PS3 has no games. The threads are annoying, I do agree with you there.

gamespot are trying to be professional. i believe there changing there standards, as 2007 has a ton of 9.0 games they raised the bar.

look at project dark, LOADS of people say the game hardly deserved AAA. the game was one of the first nex-gen games and it seemed far superior... then you have games like gears released, clearly stunning and above the 9.0 bar set by dark zero. NOW dont call me fanboy but if resistance had been released that early it could have easilt been 9.0 BUT THE BAR HAD RAISED!! 9.0 was no longer so easy to get...

Let me start with the supposedly weak wii.

Zack and wiki is now AAAe with IGNs 9.0

Meteriod prime 3 is now AAAe with IGN 9.5

Legend of zelda is now AAAe with IGN 9.5

Super paper mario is now AAAe with Game informer 9.5

Trauma center second opinion is now AAAe with euro gamer's 9.0

Geometry wars: galaxies is now a AAAe with Game informer's 9.0

now all of the sudden the wii is a AAAe monster. if "ownage" needs to be had a standardization is needed. sure the game above are great games but for stroking egos they need to compare games score to prove that one exclusive is better than others. otherwise it won't be as fun as people will claim a game that score 7 here while then you can counter with a 10 from the random website or corporate sponsered magazine. it is gotta be like professional sports teams. if team A beats team B. " 'real' AAAE" -this is gamespot system wars, therefore only GS reviews are real...for SW purposes.

"Console Exclusive" -I never said anything about console exclusive, this is gamespot system wars therefore the PC is lumped in there with my comment. Though I said "favoured console" the pc, for all intents and purposes is the same in SW.

To clarify, for SW I used GS for review scores, as that is the rules. For buying a game though, I look at a few sites and read their reviews to get a more balanced view, but that doesn't change the fact that GS reviews rule SW. If you don't like it, which the TC clearly doesn't, than don't post here.

Anyone taken a class in statistics? Know what an outlier is? Its when you have a set group of numbers, say game scores. say 10 sites give a game 9.0 to 10.0. 1 site gives it a 7.5 (gamespot) the 7.5 is illregular and an outlier and should not be considered. its outside the standard deviation.
