PS3 has no chance to win the Holiday season.

I'm not bashing it, but really, it has no chance. People will either end up buying the Wii for it's cheap price, or the 360 for it's game library. The PS3 really only has Uncharted, Resistance, Rachet, Warhawk, and Heavenly Sword (for it's exclusives). Poeple aren't going to buy the most expensive and less valuable games to own this holiday season. Wii has it pretty much on lockdown where 360 is going to end up second.

Mabye the PS3 will get it's year in 2008.

it matched 360's overall sales this month, so i think that is a pretty big step forward if you consider what MS has going for it right now.

It's not the first time I have said it. I knew it would not win in Japan and 360 damaged itself badly in Europe where Microsoft is already an enemy of the state in a lot of countries. I always root for the underdog it's part of my greater psychosis.

A. People are buying the Wii because they like it better and its more popular. The gamecube was far cheaper than its competition and still lost in sales.

I agree anyway, I think Sony's marketing for the system has improved considerably in the last few months and I'm sure it's gonna have a strong effect on consumers...but I dunno if it will be enough to override the effect Halo 3 had.

That's fine, but my point still stands. How many "gamers" out there or parents care to check scores on these sites? Kids see comercials on tv and tell momma what they want. Ps3 has awesome games and I will be honestly surprised if people check to see if they are AAA...or if they even know what that means.

The PS3 have a really good chance to do good this holiday, it has two types of consumers, gamers and who want to buy Blu-ray player, it has an advantage for the Blu-ray feature, if this two features marketed in a great way, it will do fine this holiday.

Maybe Im wrong, we will see what happens.

The Wii will easily be the best selling console. The PS3 ad 360 will be prettyclose but I think UT3 might tip the balance in favour of the PS3. NielsNL

I could be wrong here, but I don't see UT3 as being a big system seller for the PS3. It doesn't even seem to be doing that well on the PC, which is a shame, because it's a great game--and the PC is a bigger market for this type of game.

I guess you could be right. I think however the game will move some consoles among hardcore (FPS) gamers (some people just dislike PC's) who see this as the first game that is enticing enough to get a PS3 for. This just might be the slight edge for the PS3 to outsell the 360. In any case I'm guessing it'll be close.

I think it was quite an unfortunate year for the PS3 this year. Everybody who said that the PS3 would dominate in 2007 said so on the basis of what was known at the time. That being that Home, LBP, GT5 and MGS4 would be out by now. With all these delays, it seems that the pressure fell on a number of new and untested IPs such as Warhawk, uncharted, and heavenly sword. All of which performed well considering, but of course, without MGS4 and GT5, that was a big blow for the PS3 lineup this year.

If Singstar takes off in europe, and the US adopts uncharted and UT3, then we could well see a big push for PS3, but im not getting my hopes up.
