I think the 360 has the brightest future since its already had such an amazing run so far. Not to discredit the Wii or PS3, they both are picking up speed too but the 360 is already leaps beyond both of the other systems in terms of games.

I highly...
disagree, why? Sony keeps on delaying games, I really don't care if its a attempt to make a game better, theres a release date for a reason and if you don't get the job done well in terms you should be "fired".
Wii has a brighter past, present and future.

Are you talking about games wise or just sales wise? Cause if your talking Game wise then the past and present situation isnt true when it comes to being the brightest in the current console realm.

Overall, the Wii has the brightest future, no matter how much the haters disagree. It has the casual userbase as well as a hardcore one, add that with its sales and I'd be pretty confident in saying that developers will be taking advantage of it just like with the PS2, and look how great that did. Third party titles such as Fatal Frame 4 and Monster Hunter 3 are giving an insight on the situation in a way, as previous games in their series were not on Nintendo consoles.

Dispite the Wii having more sales the 360 has had multiple more attachment rates in terms of games. Overall developers jumped on the bandwagon to develop for the Wii expecting high returns and some got it some didnt, but if they want insurance in respect of making money back with sales they are going to want to go with the biggest attach rate and not the most sold.
Anyway Im not saying the Wii cant get that same effect of attach rate, its just right now the 360 has more advantage in that area giving it the brightest looking outcome so far to date. That can change in anyones favor at anytime depending on the userbase.
It will be hard for the wii to compete with the ps3 once final fantasy 13 releases.steve8198you think a jrpg is going to derail the non-gaming, casual revolution the Wii has started? keep dreaming.

Just like how Halo 3 was supposed to destroy the Wii?
Halo 3 can't hold a candle to final fantasy 13.steve8198
LOL.... you had better be talking about sales.... cuz well to say "Halo 3 can't hold a candle to final fantasy 13" is just extremely fanboyish if you are talking quality of game and still doesn't make any sense.... as both are high quality games in their perspective genres....
and since this leads me to believe that you must be talking about sales, then LOL LOL LOL *falls off chair* LOL ROFLCOPTER *picks self up, sits down*whew..... so you think FF13 will sell more than Halo3, eh?

when? late 2008 for japan, mid 2009 for the US maybe? Dont forget FF games take months to port from Japan to the US. FFXII to 6 and FFX took nearly a year. By the time FF releases the wii will have an even more established foothold than it already does.

I beleive ff 13 will be released in the US first this time around.steve8198
So they are going to make it in Japanese, translate and fix everything for the English version, release it in the US, then later go back and release the one they made first in Japan? The makers of this game are Japanese.

Saleswise Halo is beaten by Pokemon though. That's gotta hurt! :P

Totally dissagree
PS3...
-does not get most of thebest PC games that are coming to 360
- has only as many exclusives as 360
-has not Square paidto secure that FF13 never comes to 360
- has mostly JRPG's, when most RPG gamers want both JRPG and WRPGs, that 360 gets many in both categories
- has less to no strategy titles
- has no game like Ninja Gaiden 2 or Banjo
- has nothing like Fable 2 or Alan Wake
Omgod pokemon Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.
I have pokemon on gamecube that game's so stupid lol.

Console Pokemon games = teh suck. I'm a huge fan and even I say it. Handheld Pokemon RPGs > everything existing.

Those are the ones I was talking about. Best selling game ever.
Way to tarnish the name "Steve" with an idiot brush. "Proper" pokemon games are handheld only. They are exeptionally deep and full of gameplay hours. No guns, rappers or swearing though, so its obviously not "mature" enough...Omgod pokemon Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

It might have the brightest future, but it's already lost the first part you could argue. You could say we are 2/5 - 1/2 way through this generation already and Sony hasn't really hit there stride. They have taken to long to peak, so by the time they do, we will be moving on to the next generation.
Sony might claim it's a 10 year console, but if Nintendo and Microsoft come out with the Next console in 2010-2011 which is possible, the sony will have little choice but to follow suit in my opinion. By the time something like FF XIII hits the shelves this gen could be 3/5 - 2/3 over with.
Yes they might have the brightest future, but it won't be a long one.

Back on topic, a quick equasion:
Low sales + low attach rate = dark future
Bazfrag
It's equation. And you make it seem as if there's a huge gap in attach rates. That isn't true. Last thing I read on attach rates is that Wii was somewhere just over three, PS3 between 4 and 5 and 360somewhere between5 and 6. Furthermore the PS3 outsold the 360 in its first year and is selling about evenly with the 360 at the current moment, while the big system selling games all still have yet to come. So yor equation doesn't seem to be too accurate.
Its Your not yor :)
Are you sure those figures are correct? Even so, the ps3 needs a huge increase in sales to avoid getting shafted on 3rd party games. In uk, Gt is a system seller but mgs, ff etc are not. Devs wont just blindly support ps3 forever, if that was the case N64 would have beaten ps1
FF is a system seller. FF is the fourth best selling franchise ever selling over 80 million games. MGS also has a loyal following. Just looking at GS forums iI've seen countless posts saying people going to buy a PS3 only after MGS is released.
Everyone who is realistic will admit in terms of games the first year of the PS3 wasn't what you would call a treat. In 2008 however the line-up looks great, there's no arguing about that. With the lacklustre game library and the high price point the PS3 already managed to outsell the 360 in its first year (because EU release was in march, so European release hasn't even been a year yet. Adding US and Japan sales from nov 2006 to nov 2007 to the European sales to date yields more units sold than the 360 in its first year). If it already outsold it under these conditions, what will happen when the PS3 library catches up to the 360's?
I personally think the RROD is the main cause of this. My prediction is that if RROD issues aren't fixed within the next 6 months, 360 is sure to end last this gen. And M$ has got itself to blame for it then.

MGS was never a system seller sure it will lure some of the hardcore gamers to come buy a PS3 but for the most part the casual fanbase will look past it. Gran Turismo 5 however is a system seller and so is Final Fantasy it probably wont come out this year though. So Gran Turisom is the PS3's biggest hope of bringing in a significant number of people.
also sony will play some of its aces it has up its sleeve this year as ms continues to play the joker and be caught unaware,as sony are putting in a huge effort in on the games side of things this year. and with the release of mgs4 will push sales of the ps3 in to orbit, and more an more games companies use the ps3 as the lead format for developing and publishing games on:Dkrakout31Really? so how do you explain Uncharted (despite all the hype)only selling 500,000 copies in 2 months? here's something to think about.. The PS3 has an install base of about 8 mil, and out of that 8 mil how many people do you think bought the PS3 just for blu-ray? Fact: The PS3 accounts for about 78% of all blu-ray sales! in my opinion, the PS3 as a gaming console is a failure.

EU release of Uncharted was 12/12, so that's one month ago, not two. A game like Uncharted has virtually no appeal in Japan so count them out. Still it sold 760.000 games (from VGChartz for lack of better) to 8.96M PS3's, meaning about 8% of PS3 owners already bought the game, while the game is friggig expensive. (70 Euro's here, that's about $100). Pretty decent IMO.
