PS3 has the potential to put 360's multimedia features to shame!!!!!!!

Whether or not Sony is willing to cater to their consumers. :roll:

  • Custom Soundtracks
  • Custom Backgrounds
  • Fix the downloading problems(console locking up when d/l content)
  • Make PSN more well balanced, somewhat similar to xbl

Hell YDL, and other freeware software takes care of the rest.  Most of these things are pretty simple and should have been fixed at launch.  PS3 could be not only a next gen gaming console, but a blu ray player and pc all in one for cheap!!!

Bringing more stuff to PSN and having background downloads are the only things I'd be happy for right now

It does have KB/M support :P But even then, PS3 can only run SOME PC functions. There's no way a PS3 will be able to replace a PC.

Yellow Dog Linux basically gives PS3 the same features a PC has, word, excel, mplayer, web browser, etc..  The only thing it can't do that a PC can is play PC games, duh.  Just imagine what YDL will be like by next year, with a couple of updates.

From the way Sony is keeping quiet and from what Phil Harrison has indicated, expect Backgrounds, Multi-tasking etc. to be present in a new update when the PS3 launches in Europe.

Two big features it lacks. 1) background downloading 2) Media Streaming from a remote pc.

No idea how they could of left out the ability to download while playing a game.

Xbox360's ability to act as a media player when connected to a network is awesome. Music, Movies, Tv... I can stream whatever I want from my pc to my xbox.

Potential, potential, potential! Wasnt the PS3 supposed to come out and put everything to shame? Didnt the Sony sheeple say that next gen didnt start until they said it did?! Then, why the floppage?!?!? Sony sheeple still saying wait for this, wait for that. We're already enjoying the next gen with the 360. I dont have to wait for anything like the Sony sheeple do. Well, if your company doesnt play their cards right, the PS3 will end up like the Saturn. Lots of power under the hood. Very difficult to utilize and get decent results from, except for first party titles ( of course, the 1st party will know the console the best). 360's game library, now and in the future, best online service, excellent media features in the marketplace (movies, demos, trailers, video, music, etc), and add on HD DVD (if thats your thing).

As a 360 owner I already know, what I'm pointing out is the potential the PS3 haves if put into good use.
