PS3 is flopping

according to the latest vgchartz sales figures, PS3 software sales are tanking hard! the best selling PS3 game last week was the fantastic four and it sold a measly 8,000 units. PATHETIC!

its all about the wii and the 360 from now on. Any publisher that sticks it out with the ps3 is doomed to catastrophic sales figures.

no good games and 600 bucks price, It's a no brainer that theconsumerare not buying it.

only a hardcore playstation fan can live off on ps1 and ps2 and some ps3 titles till new software come.

VGchartz figures for PS3 are significantly lower than they are, and 360 and Wii are significantly higher.

Someone made a comparison with NPD and VGchartz. They differencce was a lot so VGchartz isn't the place to rely as a source.

what are you talking about?? at no time has the 360 software sales been as bad as the PS3's. A year ago the 360 had oblivion and dead rising. both were selling very well. there is nothing on the PS3 that has come close to those numbers.

Interesting This link says that 360 was at approximately 5 million units sold by its 8 month.

People forget that Lair and Heavenly Sword, and UT3were supposed to be launch titles. If those had come out at launch then this thread might have been a non issue. But since they were pushed back, it's only natural for people to be waiting for them to be released. dmaximum

First Lair and HS were for Launch, then March, then May. Now Lair is Aug 7 pushed back a week from July 31 and Heavenly Sword may be Sep 4 but for all we know is delayed indefinitely.

And people wonder why I hate my PS3....

I wouldn't say the PS3 is flopping, but I will say this...

If we lived in Opposite Land, and the PS3 were enjoying Wii-like (or hell even 360) sales, while the other two consoles were selling what the PS3 is now, there'd be a LOT of cows screaming that Wii60 flopped...

NG:Sigma will sell very, very well. As for the PS3 in general, I may be sick of waiting on the dust-gathering black box but come August (Lair) and September (Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Warhawk) look for sales to potentially improve. Especially during the holidays with Uncharted, HOME and the hype of FFXIII and MGS4 being so close.SkyCastleDan

sigma didn't sell all that well in japan. yeah it was #3 but didn't even break 50k on the first week. that's not a much have game. i wouldn't get your hopes up for most of those other games either.

I owned both the PS1 and PS2 (still have my PS2) and I went with the 360. I have turned my back on the PS3 and I dont feel bad about it one bit.

Agreed. I did the same and I still play GT3 Aspec. I turned my back on the PS3 and I get called a lemming. :lol:

I didn't turn my back on Sony, I just bought a Xbox 360, that's all. It's great playing music from my PSP hooked up to the 360. No need for a PS3, unless there's a sudden urge to watch BluRay movies.

In order to sell a million, NGS would have to sell to at least 30% of the PS3's userbase. Do you have any idea how hard that is?
