PS3 is garbage!

OK here it is, I love playstion. I always have and I always will, but the fact is right now the price of the PS3 has me nervous. At the moment I dont care for any of the games on the PS3.. down the road I cant wait to play MGS4 and FFXIII but thats almost a year away. So my true problem is I think im gunna get a 360 because I wish to play GTAIV and maybe Halo 3 and some other games for the 360.. one other thing I want to note is that I dont have a HDTV so I know that it is almost pointless to spend my money on a PS3 and then run it at 480p

I like some input.. educated input please,I need some help making my decision

I'd actually go for the 360 over the PS3. It has the best internet service for a console available, but yes, for a small cost. Easy to manage friends list and the ability to join games in literally seconds is what makes LIVE a great service. The 360 also has all the best multiplatform games that the PS3 is getting, obviously, as well as a lot of exclusives like Halo 3 and Mass Effect that the PS3 will not see (most likely). As for the failure rate, yes 360s get a lot of bad press for failing, but it has a 3 YEAR WARRANTY that should negate all these problems. If that doesn't make you feel better, you can always buy a 2 year extended warranty from Microsoft.

Anyways, on System Wars you're going to get fanboy answers - don't expect to come away with any informed responses. I gave you my views, and I don't think the Playstation 3 is worth it this year. Next year? That's a different story.

However, if you don't like any of the games, buy an HD TV! There's no point wasting money on a console if you aren't going to like most of the games on it. An HD TV can be enjoyed all the time though :).

360 is the best system ever right after pc and snes. the online is great controller is very comfortable and the games are awesome. ps3 is great to but mine sits in the closet waitng for mgs4 and ff13.

I can tell you that if you're truely a Playatation gamer that you'll hate the 360. I made the mistake of buying the POS. It will freeze games and or fail you. I Ebayed my 360 and own 2 PS3's, but you really need a better TV with at least Component inputs and high speed internet to utilize a PS3. casey7672

if your a blind gamer then yes he might have that problem. i had mine since gears came out and it has never froze or over heated. that usually happens when a persons parents dont teach their children how to play with expensive toys.

Nope it is good.

However , holiday 08 is the sweet spot for the PS3. by then it will be worth it.

i bought my first playstation when i was six because everybody had one and i loved it. i bought a ps2 when i was 10 with the money i got from selling all my old systems and i loved it. my point is if he likes games then he'll love the 360 like i do. it has the biggest libray of games out so im sure he'll find something he likes

If you have an interest in halo3, it probably means you will have tons of fun with it if you get it and Xbox Live. If you are simply unable to get Live, don't get a 360.

Don't listen to the "don't get either till you have an HDTV" bullcrap. I would get Halo3 if it looked exactly like 2. Games look fine on a normal TV.

Go with the 360 if you want to play Halo online, and go with the PS3 otherwise.

If that's seriously your situation, overcome your fanboyism and buy an Xbox 360. You might want to wait til just before the end of the year and purchase a 65nm version, though.

By that time, if the PS3's price drops and its lineup appeals to you, make a new comparison and make a new decision.

If you're willing to chance the hardware failure, just buy an Xbox and stop bothering us.

Yes it is. I wouldnt have bought a 360 ifi didnt have a HDTV. Yes some game look no different but other that rely on that detail they look leaps and bounds above everything. GRAW looks terrible on SDTV.

i undresdtand wht u are syaing, just note PS3 still looks great on SD, the only thing that isnt good is that u cant take advantage of bluray (which is amazing) i just got 300 on bluray! though consider u will get an HDTV so it is still worth it.

also consider the 360 has terrible hardware, so bad that it was talked about on the tv show USA today.and u are going to get a ps3 anyway for the exclusives liek FF and MGS.

i know i and a sony fan, buthonestly ps3 just sounds like a better choice, for reliability, future use, games...
