Right now no one in their right mind need purchase a PS3. Home honestly looks kind of useless to me. However, it is Sony, eventually they PS3 will be a good system to buy, not neccesarily when it is cheaper (that would help though) but when it has good games. That time will come soon enough. So really both sides are right, PS3 does suck (for the moment) and it is worth buying (later though).
Also there is a petition to bring back the GS live feature Cooking with Tim, post here and maybe ole' tim will show us a couple more recipes. With the pure genius of his casserole who could not want more recipes from this man.
