but the ps3 does everything so it must be bigger than gaming too so there are really only 2 consoles and sony has lost the war because they evolved out of it
If all we are talking about in terms of leap is actual leap in technology then it would be th snes-n64, genesis to saturn *smaller note dreamcast* and the ps1.
Nothing so far rivals the leap between 2d in computers and consoles, to 3d nothing.
Ps2 to ps3 was nothing big, gamecube to wii and xbox to 360 as well. Much in the same way the leap from vhs to dvd is far bigger then the leap from dvd to bluray

which is why the DC discontinued, sadly :( nah the DC died because of sega's incompetence *for the most part* and sony lies (ps2 is 32x more powerful) *to a very small part*
in terms of the CPU and blueray, yes it is, but when it comes to GPU's, i don't think so, the GPU is it's achiles heel, but it's a moot point anyway, the tech in PC's is greatly superior to all consoles
