Judging on everything we've seen online (70 person turnout at Australian Launch party, free HDTV's given in Europe) regarding the PS3 launch overseas, what are your thoughts on the situation? Merely a slow start, or an added nail in the coffin? Looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts.

those places have less free money and more taxes than NA. Not only that, but the ps3 costs more in those places. So its pretty much only price.

I'd say give them a break, they might do well in their next console.

One question though, does anyone know how are they doing in Japan?

Japan was my next question for the board, I've heard conflicting accounts of how the PS3 is doing over there. Nintendo will always be huge in Japan, but PS1 and PS2 also had huge followings over there too so you never know. I should just get my wife to call some of her relatives in Japan and ask which system they own, we can settle this dispute now. :P

the ps3 appears to have lost about 99% of those "100 million loyal users" that sony and the cows were bragging about....

ps3 = flop

..by ANY definition...

Japan isn't the same market it used to be. People in japan are more interested in the portable devices then consoles this time around/

Oh well, Sony Computer Entertainment, you had a good run. I really think Sony should focus on televisions and whatnot. Get out of the games industry altogether.

Number_1_Gamer , thats harsh. Sure, I support Nintendo, but am no fanboy. I think every compnay contributed to gaming, specifically Sony and Nintendo!

Wait until Monday.  They'll start selling then.  If not, just wait until the Monday after that.  If not, keep waiting. PS3 will sell and will rule them all!!!  [/Sarcasm]

I definietly feel what everyone's saying, sure I want PS3 to produce some landmark titles but until they do I just don't know. Don't get me wrong I been loyal to Sony since I worked all summer & sold my Genesis with 30 games just to buy a PS1, but these days I got a wife & kids to take care of so it's not easy to justify 500-600 bucks. Very eager to see what 2007 holds for all the consoles...
