Seeing as how you've obviously played it (PS3) to come to that conclusion, what problems does it have for you that I haven't appeared to experience? You have played it, remember.;)

it's kind of common knowledge that the PS3 version had big online problems.... are you going to deny that while it was on the boards 24/7?
I thought the 360 version looks better????chikenfriedrice
The ps3 one is better, but not by much. Just play the games stop these sill y contests to see wich version has the extra frame per second, or which one has one less jaggie. JUST PLAY THE FREAKIN GAME!!!!!

Just ignore that that always-Honest ? Always-Liar , Always-Fanboy.
Why do you think Xbox 360 version looks better because it's darker and Ps3 looks a little bit washed out ? change your TV's gamma and you'll see PS3 looks very realastic and better

Yes very old and I don't think anyone really cares to be honest. Both games are excellent on both the PS3 and the XBox 360 and that's really all that matters.

very true. Infinity Ward did an excellent job. The differences are only noticable when you really look for them. not when you are playing the game.

since we have a different opinion on what honest is, i'll say something in YOUR definition of honesty:
"CoD4 on the PS3 did NEVER have any problems online". here you go. you bought the perfect product.
LOL. I run this game at 1920x1200 on my pc with faster framerate and tons sharper visuals then any console. Before you ridicule me, I bought this game for my PS3 too. I ended up taking it back due to worse visuals then the pc counterpart, plus online and about every other aspect didn't feel as good. While I suppose it was great on PS3, in my mind it was taking a giant step backward from my rig.
Just another great title on console, and perfect on pc.

It's awesome how fanboys take a rumor and run with it (it goes both ways, believe me I know). I have the PS3 version and while the servers have been going down, the online isn't "broken". Servers crash. Kind of like how "things break".
Besides the servers crashing (which has only happened to me a few times), there is nothing wrong with it. Voice works fine, no lag, no stat or rank problems, and guess what? It's free.
My PC runs it at 1600x1200, 16x AF, all max, 4x AA with 40-60 FPS.DarkRecruito.O Who's talking about the PC version? -.-' Ugh...annoying "hermits".

Oh, but when Virtual Fighter 5 looks a little better than the PS3 versions, almost all Lemmings go crazy about it. Great sense.

the problems with CoD4 online on PS3 are not a rumor. they were discussed many times by concerned consumers. Saying nothing happened will not help. you payed for a product that should just work. Luckaly they can patch a lot of issues nowadays.
Indeed they did get it right. Hopefully more developers get into the habit of making both versions of a multiplat at the same time instead of porting. The stark contrastin the quality of the finished product between the two methods is really something.
Finally, it appears as though a developer is taking the right approach when producing games for next-generation consoles. After almost a year of poor ports and all sorts of discussions about how multi-console games looked worse on the PS3, owners of Sony's latest home console can breathe a sigh of relief.
Infinity Ward, the developers behind the highly acclaimed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare, admitted in an interview that they had their best coders working on the PS3 version of one of this holiday's most anticipated games.
"We had our best programmers on the PS3 [version of Call of Duty] and it shows," commented Infinity Ward studio head Vince Zampella.
This has also been part of the reason why Sony's version of the game has a bigger online capacity (24 maximum vs. the 360's maximum of eighteen) as well as better visuals on the PlayStation platform.
"We had two separate teams working on both versions from the start," Zampella says, adding, "Most developers only focus on a single platform, then quickly port the game over to another one. You don't get very good results that way".
This bit of information is reassuring, as hopefully more and more developers will start developing equally for both platforms and even feature the PlayStation 3 as the lead platform. Also interesting is that most of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare TV spots also exclusively promoted the PlayStation 3 version of the game.Hydrolex
LOL at this post.
Look at their direct quotes. Where do they say that COD4 runs better on PS3? There are only two direct quotes from Infinity Ward. The rest of the story is the writer making sweeping assumptions and taking things out of context. When Infinity Ward says, "and it shows", they're talking about how both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of their game, compared to other multi-plat titles, are on parity with each other when usually it's the PS3 version of multiplats that suffers a bit in performance and graphics.
By the way, that story also mentions how the PS3 version of COD 4 is 24 players online. WTF? It's 18. Same as Xbox 360. That is purely 100% false so I find it hard to believe the rest of the article. The PC version is the only one that has more than 18 players.
We have seen side-by-side comparisons of both versions, game websites that have reviewed both versions, and everybody who has seen and played the game says that they are 100% identical. Everybody should be happy about it.

well I guess that's that. But really, if nobody is complaining about their performance, I don't understand why this is even an issue.

In case you can't read...I said I return my PS3 copy due to favoring the PC version. Aren't you aware that most hermits have at least one console in their household? Guess not.
On my gaming rig, COD4 runs so much smoother with sharper visuals and better controls unlike the console counterpart which side by side realtime comparisons make me wanna vomit. It's not bad if you dont own a high end PC, but otherwise...DURRRRR!

yes i do, and for good reason. i compared both and i FOLLOW THE NEWS.
Though like i said they are VERY similar. but Cod4 ps3 had online problems, and even if they were equal, shooters play better with the 360 controller for me (and for most who know both). that's not fanboysm, thats just how it is.

2 teams for working on two different consoles means more people and money. not everyone has money to throw around like that, only the bigger company's. yea, its easy to say get two teams and do it but it's not just that easy. some can't afford to do that...the up and coming game makers. so you can't have a problem with them...all these big name game makers were them before they got their hit games and became big company's with money to spare. it doesn't seem right for one of them now to come out and say this like the other guys aren't putting in effort. the other big name company's, yea, they should put some more people on and work with two teams and are being greedy and lazy if they don't.
but at the same time Sony shouldn't have made this necessary to do. the console is too hard to dev for...it's causing too many problems and making a lot of people look bad that don't deserve it.

My computer runs the game @ 1920x1080 16xQ AA (forced through control panel) 16x AF All maxed ingame with High Quality Texture Filtering enabled in control panel. I get about 70-80fps on those settings. I play the game on my 42" LCD that I play all my PC games on.
