I was reading this article LINK

It's a comparison between the 2 console versions of GTA 4.

Within the article i found this. LINK

It's a blog post by an ex Harmonix employee, very interesting read coming from someone who has technical knowledge and experience working with the PS3.

Let me guess without reading those links.

ps3 hard to develop for,

360 easier to develop for

and they are about equal in what they can produce.

Maybe this employee has never had a chance to play Uncharted. The graphics are better than anything I've seen yet on a console.......Gears is the closest thing and it still looks better.

I think this is more sour grapes......he actually has to work hard to make a PS3 game. maybe he should ask Naughty Dog how make a game?

So when you say article, what you really mean is blogs? And not company ones, but personal blogs...........

And, to top it off, you say the second blog is by an ex-harmonix dev and, since the blog was written in October 2007, he wasn't even in the company when Rock Band was released meaning, the only game he could have only been in Harmonix for only part of Rock Band, a rhythm game, not a graphical powerhouse, not a cacophony of gameplay, but a rhythm game.

Pardon me if I come across as sounding harsh, but your attempt to attach credibility to the two BLOGS you have posted is as futile as the resistance put up by the people the borg succeeded in assimilating.

There's no doubt PS3 games can look good, it's just that seems to be more work required than what is need on the 360.

Even if his main agenda is that he has to work harder to get a game looking or performing a certain way on the PS3, don't you think it's a legitimate beef?

If i worked for 2 people, and they both wanted me to create something for them which was identical and it took me longer to get the work finished for one of them because of a constraint i would be annoyed.

I made no comment on the first link apart from saying where i got the link to the Harmonix blog from. Sorry if i was misleading by refering to an article, my mistake.

Now if these problems the developer is speaking about is linked to working on Rock band which is not a graphical powerhouse, wouldn't these issues be amplified when working on a a game that does require more in the graphical department?

I hope you know the more Fanboys bring up uncharted, you are only proving the guys point because he said the best games on the system will be funded by sony, not 3rd party. so hes right and youre right. Uncharted looks excellent. but if you work with computer graphics and software, you know that there is alot of trickery used in uncharted that seem to go unnoticed by fanboys, or maybe its deliberate? i dunno

Good point. Sony help out/ subsidise developers that are close to them and that's why we have great games like Uncharted but this really does leave other developers out in the cold.

Think of the smaller developement studios that are making their first PS3 game and having trouble. Sony don't care about sending a special team to help them. Experiences like this could detract from some devs making games for the console.

The problem with his rant it's not based in reality.

Then he goes on to say how the exclusive titles will all be crap on the PS3 and rarely will you see a good game. That is complete and utter garbage if you ask me. I'm not joking when I say lazy devs like this is the reason why PS3 games usually suck but it's the truth. Naughty Dog was able to release a top notch looking and terrific gameplay within a YEAR of the PS3s release. Insomniac is the same.

There are devs who know how to develope PS3 games and there are obviously those who don't have a clue. This guy seems to be one of those that don't have a clue. I think we can all agree it's harder to make a game on the PS3 in general but that's because it's NEW HARDWARE. Budgets are clearly working against those that have to learn as they go.....but I'm not buying this idea that PS3 is always going to have ***** games because there are already great games available right now. In the near future there is going to be even better games. There is a reason why this is on a blog.....because it's complete garbage.

I agree with you on that. In time the developers will learn to get more out of the PS3 and when this happens on a much larger scale then the PS3 will really pick-up some serieous steam.
