PS3 now outselling 360 in the UK too.

Sony's PlayStation 3 console has seen its sales top one million in the UK while outselling Microsoft's Xbox 360 during the past four weeks.

Sony confirmed the console has reached the milestone figure, while Chart Track revealed the system's UK sales had overtaken the Xbox 360 during the past month for the first time.

"It has been outselling 360 for the last four weeks, but they were neck and neck over the Christmas period, weeks 49-52," said Chart Track director Dorian Bloch.

Chart Track also revealed that the PlayStation 3, launched March 23 last year, has reached the one million sales milestone in the UK faster than its predecessor, the PlayStation 2, which took 50 weeks to hit the figure.

I take this info with a grain of salt. The British got a dump taken on them by Sony. Releasing the console way late and offering versions with no PS2 compatibility, so on and so on. If i lived over there I would hang myself before giving money to Sony. These people have open arms for Sony and no reputation.

The domination mode is where you and your team have to capture and hold 3 points on the map. If the other team has all 3 points the game chimes "your being dominated."

Price is not the 360s problem. It has been around 150 dollars cheaper then the competition (PS3) for a while now and it has the arcade model priced at a near Wii price point. Its variety and worldwide appeal.

The 360 is currently cheaper then the PS3 and still being outsold, what makes you think that it being even more cheaper will help it a significant amount, not to mention the fact that the PS3 could drop in price as well?

No. MS specifically said in their press release that the "shortages" are caused by an higher-than-anticipated holiday demand in NA and a lower-than-anticipated holiday demand in other regions. Basically, it was a shipment problem as it took too long for them to move consoles from overstocked regions to NA, which is understocked.

I think we have to wait until february/march for some sales figures. All three have sold so poorly over january that it's pointless to compare them. It's like racing three cars and having them all crash on the first corner; but bragging that the one which crashed last is the best. They all fail.

Sold so poorly? Sure, the Wii went down, maybe because they sold an unholy amount during the holiday season. However, the PS3 sold more in Janaury than they have, on average, last year. People say it dropped since last January...which was still within the launch window. How many month last year saw the PS3 struggling to even sell 200,000 on any month? So I fail to see how a console that was selling roughly 150,000 a month NOW selling 270,000 is "so poorly".

Also, the 360 has been selling, on average, 200,000-300,000 per month practically every single month since launch (except for holiday season and Halo 3 launch). So again, how is MS selling perfectly in line with past months, on average, considered "so poor"?

My point is that if you think price is MS ace in the hole then you are wrong. Price is not as much a factor as VALUE. The Dreamcast and GC were cheaper then the PS2 but it still wont, why because the PS2 had more value for its price.

They found having an all in one HD gaming machine and HD movie player more valuable then saving 100-50 dollars and just having a gaming machine with poor reliability.

All three console manufacturers commented on the NDP results as being disappointing and uncharacteristically low. :| But yeah, i'm sure you simply averaging out sales figures over-rules that.

Cows on here must have crystal balls or something because it is stupid to make such outrageous assumptions based upon one month of sales.

Not only that but back in December when the Lemmings were crying over how superior their sales were, Cows got all up in arms about how sales don't matter and how it is about the games(funny, because back in December and still now, the PS3 has very few worthwhile games). The same people now are saying how sales are so strong and amazing on the PS3, and bragging about how it has outsold the 360 marginally for the past few weeks. I just can't believe how silly the cows on here are.

great so for one month since launch the ps3 outsold the 360!!! whats to say the 360 cant once again take the lead its only the matter of price drop the ps3 was struggling a great deal before sony slashed the price wont take much for MS to change this trend

sony can just as easily do that now it cost them 400 dollars to make the ps3, and if sony was willing to lose more then 200 dollars when the console launched/for the first half year then why wouldnt they be willing to do it now?

Plus in the UK this is not the first time this has happened. I think that the ps3 will win here in the UK. More and more people I know are now getting one as it has gotten cheaper.
