 The three who were camping inside at 6pm today were keen, the first to arrive, **** Thomas (pictured with me) had turned up on Virgin's doorstep at 5am that morning, but he had many more hours to wait out before someone else joined him, at 11.45am. The third, and last (when I arrived at 5pm) to rock up was Omar, who had got there only a few hours prior to me, was planning on buying six consoles to sell on eBay. Although goodness knows if he'll go through with it, as after hearing me discuss the low profits made by reselling the consoles on eBay with **** he took me aside and asked me nervously if I recommended he go through with it or not...

You know that having a preorder doesn't gaurantee you a system the day it comes out. If things go well people may have to wait a week or two to get their system.too_much_eslim

Wrong. A pre-order guarantees you a unit on launch day. Once launch day orders are fullfilled, a second book may be opened. However, since Sony has flooded the market, there will be more than enough of them to go round.

As far as the OP goes, the PS3 has failed because only 3 people are lining up over a day before a console in plentiful supply is launched? For the love of god, please stay single.

If people aren't lining up, that means that they expect there to be enough supply that they don't need to in order to get a console. That's not a bad thing, though it's not necessarily a positive thing either. Besides, there's still another day for people to get in line.

As long as it sells out fairly quickly, it doesn't matter how many people lined up. It's way too early for the launch to have failed.

Well, this time, pre-orders are guaranteed. If they weren't guaranteed, they would have told customers before hand like our stores did and then people would probably line up. But there's over a million PS3s going to Europe day one so there really isn't any reason for there to be a problem supplying demand.

To say the launch failed because no one is lining up is extremely premature and irrational. Similarly, it is also extremely premature and irrational to claim that the PS3 has failed in Europe before it has even launched.

Theres no damage control buddy your the one in damage control or denial one. Sony shipped 1 million consoles to Europe and retailers are the promising they can still shipped to you by March 23.
