If your monitor has HDMI inputs it's as easy as pluging it in.

your not going to have the same picture then if you buy an HDTV 16:9 is the ratio accepted by most people for movies but on a computer monitor its 16:10 so it will be streched out a bit

I TV is a 52" projector monitor, it dose not have a HDMI port, it has a DVI port. I brought a HDMI to DVI connector.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7129403&st=dvi&type=product&id=1110262781843

Edit: you need the componet cables from the PS3, just plug in the sound connectors (Red and White) to the DVI section.

So if you hook up your 360/PS3 to a monitor with HDCP via DVI then how do you get the sound to work?

and those cables are plugged into what exactly? the setup I understand so far is your 360's HDMI is converted to DVI and then you plug the DVI into your monitor... HDMI carries sound, but I"m pretty sure DVI doesn't.
