ps3 or 360 graphics?

im sure that this has been posted many times before but i didnt find anything that answered my Q.

(i have a 360 btw). i watched both the sony and microsoft e3 and i saw gameplay footage in both. the ps3 seemed like it had better gameplay graphics but i didnt expect it to be that extrem. im not a halo fan(yet) but i thought the graphics would be better. i thought since the 360 launched way earlier that they would understand the system more and newer games would have better graphics, but thats not the case. i thought forza 2 would have amazing graphics but its nothing compared to gt5 althought forza 2 is a great game. so whats up with this? i read somewere that developers are only using 1/3 of the 360's power..why dont they use it all? whats the point of the system if there not gunna use the power. so which has better graphics?

The 360 certainly has its share of great-looking games. The thing is that most of the good-looking games have come from third-parties so far (Gears, DiRT, COD4), while their first-party games have been somewhat lacking (you mentioned Forza 2 and Halo 3).

With Sony, on the other hand, the first-parties are most definitely cranking out the best graphics (Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Killzone2).Teufelhuhn

The PS3 has amazing graphics, imo. Of course, the PC trumps all.

the PS3 generally has better graphics, however the 2 machines approach the graphics in differant ways.

its MUCH harder to code for the PS3, the PS3 is just a pain in the arse to code for. however, once you figure it out, its amazing what the PS3 can do.

the 360 is much easier to code for, but it cant quite reach the theoretical level of the PS3.

think of it like a car, one has more top speed, and one has more acceleration. but whats really up for debate- is the handling.

Before the 360 and PS3 came out, people thought the PS3 would have the best graphics, just by reading the specs. Fast foward now, and you'll find that the PS3s graphics aren't leaps and bounds better than the 360s. Matter of fact, games on the 360 now looks better than what the PS3 have so far. Some people say the PS3 has this "potential" locked, but I think when this "potential" is unlocked its not going to better than PC Crysis like graphics. I think this is why the 360 is selling better than the PS3 becauseyou get the same graphics or even better for a lower price. And if you break it down even more, graphics isn't everything, that's why the Wii is selling like hotcakes.

Ugh who's foolish enough to debate this? I think it's common knowledge that PC's are always ahead of consoles in the harware department, because that is how their market works.

Yes PS3 is the best hardware wise for consoles. So it's natural that it ill have better games. It's just getting the new code down is hard, but as you can see via killzone etc they are definately getting it.
