If there's no Exclusives, and all games were coming out on both platforms, which console would you stick with?
I own both, but since 1 console will have all the games the other console will have, I would go with PS3.
How about you?

Definitely PS3 for Blu-ray and WiFi. Multiplats are almost identical. The Xbox Live experience is a little better than the PSN, but you have to pay for it which is ridiculous to me, so I would still go with PS3 for online gaming.
No exclusives like GOWIII, GeoW, Halo, KZ2, GT5, Forza3, LBP, Resistance, Ratchet, Banjo, MGS4, Uncharted 2, Fable II, Demon's Souls, etc?

Well, in that case I would take the $299 Blu-Ray player instead of paying $299 for a NON Blu-Ray player. Then we look at RELIABILITY between both consoles, and SOLD. PS3 wins easily.
This is easy! I would be willing to give up a few Live Features in this reality, for sure.
That's not our reality though.:P

Waits for Damage Control Posts, declaring DVD quality is just as good as Blu-Ray!, Multiplat Pixels!, the ability to DOWNPLAY BLU-RAY and somehow support Pixel Counting is amazing to me, etc.
XBox 360. I could care less about Blu-Ray. I can play all my DVD's upscaled to 1080P on my XBox 360. Look just as good and DVD's are cheaper. Plus Xbox Live is a better online service, larger user base and most of the multiplat games play better on the XBox 360. The only thing the PS3 would really have is Blu-Ray and Home. Both features I don't care about. So yeah.. that was easy. ;)If there's no Exclusives, and all games were coming out on both platforms, which console would you stick with?

I would have to go with PS3. Free online as well as the Blu-ray player certainly help (although I still prefer the 360's online).
I am pretty sure the whole point of the "no exclusives" argument is that the two console's games would be identical. There would be no exclusive DLC either. This is purely based on the console's merit, not the games (which, for the record, almost always are superior on the 360)PS3 of course. Joker for Batman: AA alone makes it better than the 360.

PS3 because without exclusives, the original Xbox would have died and therefore the 360 wouldn't even exist.
If I could play them online, I would have to go with 360. 360 has better online services, and generally better multiplatform games. If not I'd say PS3. The PS3 is a better piece of hardware, especially since you get a blu ray player out of it.
Xbox 360, I could care less for Blu Ray and prefer the online games on 360 much more. Controller is better for 360. People actually have headsets online and there is party chat. Not to mention Multiplats are either the same on both consoles or about 20% of the time better on 360.
I could care less about Blu-Ray. I can play all my DVD's upscaled to 1080P on my XBox 360. Look just as good (as Blu-Ray)...

C'mon, not this again.
DVD's upscaled do not look remotely like Blu-Ray.
It's been YEARS man, you should stop by an electronic store and see what a Blu-Ray Movie Disc really is.
Interesting thought experiment TC.
PS3 for hardware reliability and for being an overall better piece of hardware.
The only other thing besides exclusives MS has is XBOX LIVE which is terrific and all, but I much prefer free gaming with less of the features that I likely will not use. It also has the better multiplatforms for the most part with exclusive content though... Hmm, this is a tough choice. I am not going to vote.
By the way, what becomes of the exclusives if you arent counting exclusives? Do they not exist or are they multiplatform?
Ok, so at this point, since no Exclusives:
PS3 Advantage:
Free Online
Blu-Ray Player.
Upgradable Hard Drive.
Rechargable Controller.
Blu-Ray Discs (More Data).
Bluetooth.
XBOX 360 Advantage:
NETFLIX - (BUT, Coming Soon To PS3)
Better Online Experience.
Some Developers Developing for XBOX 360 First, Usually Means Better Graphics.
Even If Developers Port Games From PS3, XBOX 360 Will Still Look Good.
PS3 Dis-Advantage:
Not So Good Online Experience.
Ports From 360 Usually Not As Great.
Some Developers Having Hard Time Developing From PS3.
XBOX Dis-Advantage:
Online Not Free.
Minimal Hard Drive Upgrade Option.
Hard Drive Pricey.
Add-On's With Extra Cost.
Some Games May Require More Discs.
This is a few thing that I thought of, If any mistakes, just correct me.
I still think PS3 is the way to go.

Reliability. The fact that I am still on my first PS3 and now on my third 360 says something
considering they are both suposed to be gaming consoles i would go with the 360
blue-ray is nice and all, but gameing systems are suposed to play games.
if i wanted to watch movies i would have bought a blueray player.
ps3 for the
built in wifi
rechargable usb controllers
blu-ray player
easy/cheaper hard drive replacement/upgrade
The looks
internet browser
free online that plays and runs a lot smoother IMO and experience
failure rate is half of 360s RROD fiasco

it only does everything!

That's true, but just think about an XBOX 360 Gaming System ($299.99) & PS3 Multimedia/Gaming All In One System ($299.99)[QUOTE="comeonthehoops"]360 has superior multiplats, a better controller, and more users. However the PS3 has free online and a blu-ray player, and is also more reliable. I'd probably go for the PS3, but I'd have a hard time getting used to the awful design of the controller.True_Gamer_Its amazing how 120mil people (ps2 ds) found that controller design fine....go wonder.
i wonder if they ever thought maybe it was their controller that was akward. only to find they dont know any different. so when they touch a ps3 controller it feels alien and awful.

well if that was true i would have gone with ps3, but sadly. i live in norway and the price here is quite diffrent
i can get an xbox360 for 1899 kr. with 2 games and about 2499 kr. for elite with 2 games
while ps3 is around 3399 kr. slim with 2 games

Wow, I see. It's alright :). Hopefully you'll have that option sometime in the future.Xbox 360, I could care less for Blu Ray and prefer the online games on 360 much more. dude.... you wanna go talk to people online with a mic try yahoo or icq. i play multiplayer games for the competition not to chit chat about worthless crap. half the time when i play uncharted 2 or MW i have to mute half of the players. i wanna play a game not hear kids scream or try to talk like they are all that and a bag of chips in the online world  reason i stopped playing halo 2....

Well, just my reason for PS3... I like the fact that I can use Bluetooth headsets (like the Motorola one) and walk around the house to get something without carrying the controller with me. I think you have to hold your X360 Controller around with the headset which is kind of inconvenient. Please Log In to post.
